U.S. Customs and Border Protection at the Savannah Port of Entry inspected a container of manifested firearm magazines and discovered 591 cartons of pistol magazines bearing the Glock trademark.
I think this kind of thing goes on a lot more frequently than anyone realizes.
Quite a while back, I was struggling with some 168gr Hornaday AMAX bullets for a 308 Win load I was working on. I finally started to measure and weigh them and found them wildly variable, the first time ever for a Hornaday bullet for me.
I called Hornaday CS and after a bunch of questions, he determined the lot number I had didn't match the packaging it came in, it was concluded I had likely gotten knock offs or at a minimum a repackaged lot.
Given that there was a complete fake Apple Store in China, right down to the green tee shirts and employees that actually thought they worked for Apple, I would believe anything when it comes to fake goods.
I fully expect to see software, watches, and any other number of brands being made and sold illegally. Some countries do not choose to enforce these regulations.
I do hope that the intended recipient is getting painful levels of U.S. attention. People selling firearms products go to distributors and manufacturers, and it is tough to believe these were not earmarked for someone knowingly preparing to foist them on unsuspecting buyers. Glock and others deserve to have their trademarks and products protected from unlawful imitation, and hopefully those peddling this pay the price.
So... how would one check to see how many of us are in possession of magazines we THINK are Glock? I know I no longer purchase Apple items (phone sync cables, etc.) off Amazon due to the fact that I have received lookalike variants. Online sales make this sort of crime easier (and I freely admit to actively boosting online sales, as it is easy!).

But they were a dollar cheaper than / brownells / midway / Natchez / and other honest sellers of real stuff. Be careful where you order from. I wonder if I have any knockoff mags?? I hope not. I order from quality places
Some of them were also customers. As a kid, getting in and buying the booze then getting back out and away without getting busted, was half of the appeal.
As for this thread's topic, magazines, I second what davsco wrote. How would one tell the difference? Not long ago Aim Surplus had "factory Glock" mags for $18.95, which is cheaper than I've seen them in a long time. Aim is a reputable company, but I do wonder.....
I guess they cant be sold directly from China on E Bay, but who knows where they come from why would China ship to the Port of Savannah with California closer except no Hi Caps can be sent to Cali eh? Maybe they were flown in?!?
Glad I got all I need.
You boys will send me off to examine my magazines. As regards low priced mags, a buddy scored 5 @$100. At that price there still has to be plenty of cushion; look at a Glock mag. It ain't a Rolex.
Any word at all about how the mags were packaged or marked inside the cartons?

It would be interesting to see if these fake mags came from Communist China. They have sure sold plenty of counterfeit stuff to us. And poisoned dog treats.
Too bad we don't buy more stuff from Free China (Formosa) instead.
Korean mags by SGM with that packaging, but they jammed a bit and I resold them... with a caveat... the quickest picture I could find. They had no Glock Logo on the package or the mags, so just the name as shown must be enough to be considered "counterfeit". These were the first I got that were packaged and branded by SGM.
The only high capacity .45 magazine that works with Glocks... that I've used... are the Kriss upgrades using the upgrade kit made by Magpul for Kriss. Those take a G21 mag to 30 rounds and work without any problem.
