I'm remotely interested in getting the grip stipled on one of my Glocks but I've got a few questions first if you fellas don't mind.
While I've seen some truly beautiful work come across here most, if not all, are newly stipled. I'd love to see how well those grips are holding up with time and use. Any deformation or discoloration? If you had it to do over would you still have that work done? Also, what seems to be the going rate for grip stipling?
Finally, since I live in the Tyler, TX area I'd prefer someone locally or around the D/FW metroplex. Your pictures are most welcome too. THANKS all!
I have a Zev tech that's probably ~3-4 years old. Came stippled by them, and still looks like the day I bought it I guess. Maybe if I shoot with really dry hands, I might get a little white skin flakes in it. But it'll clean right out.
I have since stippled a few of my pistols to match my factory zev pistol. I've never stippled prior to trying it out a few weeks ago on my glock and literally ended up doing ~6 of them over the course of a week or so.

I've been quoted by a popular grip stippling place, and they want anywhere between 150-250 for a stipple job. That's not including the upgrades like "accelerator" cut, magazine scallop, etc.
That noise was my bottom jaw hitting the ground! $150-$250.00 you say? Well, my old bike innertube grip is looking better and better right now.
Thanks gdirty5 for the picture of your nice collection. I'd heard that stippling wouldn't hold well under use but I guess it's like anything else, it depends on the quality of the work.
Are all the prices pretty much in line with this?
Thanks guys for your replies!
I had a shop in Texas highly recommended to me for a grip modification from a friend that has had two done. On his recommendation I've sent one off to remove the front finger bumps and the rear hump reduced, plus his texture. Cold Bore Customs in Katy, TX.
I had zero idea I had that much invested (but since you mentioned it, it really makes my eyes open up).... I need to stop my compulsiveness. Maybe I'll put some up for sale, b/c I really like having matching pairs, but I really don't need them.
Hey...if I could invest that much in them I would...
and I can justify your need for matching pairs (calibers anyway)...if you and the wife have to go through armageddon, having matching calibers is a plus...and multiple calibers too
All my glocks are 9mm. All of them run zev triggers, and for some reason I cannot leave them stock. It's a sickness, just about as bad as black rifle disease
Make sure you have a big name do it. I've seen more than one messed up frame by so called professionals. I'd look at boresight. It's expensive but they do the best work I've seen.
I had Zev build a G26 for me. They do awesome work. If anything, their trigger is a bit light for my taste in a carry handgun.
