When I was a young'un, I went to gun safety class, shot .22 rifle, had a 20 gauge shotgun and did little pheasant hunting. Then life happened. Now I'm recently retired and over the last few years I've harbored thoughts of owning a handgun primarily for sport shooting but was deterred by the thought of spending a not inconsiderable chunk of change for the gun and all the accoutrements.
I was recently visiting my father in a neighboring state and he reminded me of a gun he owned and asked if I would like to have it-a Glock 17 9mm. It didn't take long to decide I would accept. My brother told me he had bought it new in the early 90's and likely had not much more than 100 rounds go through it.
Now I find myself fascinated by the whole world of firearms and look forward to learning about and becoming part of it.
