Pandaz3,
We have it bad enough in Miami Dade! I'm in Miami Lakes stones throw from Opa-Locka & Miami Gardens!I don't go anywhere unarmed! Yeah,,,I also have to go thru Liberty city & Overtown at times!!

Ultimately, I try to avoid areas (as I'm sure most of us do), that may be plagued with high crime or risky individuals, but at the end of the day, it's not always possible. My daily, around town carry setup is a G27 with standard 9 round mag, and a G22 15 round mag as a backup. If I must travel to a less than savory area, I may use a 13 round mag with X-grip in the pistol, and one or two 15 round mags as backup. I always have 2 15 round mags in my "truck bag", so those are always available, and I'll typically toss a few more loaded mags in that bag if I'm driving out of town.
guns are tools, you bring different tools for different jobs. A carpenter may need a 160z hammer for one job and a 20 oz hammer for another job. CCW guy/girl may need his/her G27 for woods carry or his/her G23/G22 for city carry. Different guns for different jobs

Here in Stupidville aka Denver, crime has been rising every day since 2013 (pot legalized). I have not changed my daily carry, a G43, due to the higher crime rate, yet, except inauguration day, I carried my G29, JIC.
I have never thought that the idea of "When I'm just going to the store I just carry a" (name a small caliber gun), was a good idea. If you are going anywhere you might need lethal force why would you pick a back up gun for primary carry? Scenario: Your "just going to the Store" and you drop a .380 LCP or whatever in your pocket. Unfortunately, while in the store, three armed thugs come in to rob it. One of them shoot's the clerk. How bad are you going to want that 9MM, .40, .45 with a spare magazine you left at home ? Maybe far fetched, maybe not. I was pumping gas at a BP when three Felons did exactly that, though they didn't shoot the clerk.
DonGlock, great answer (& great signature). Thanks for both.
