Hi, I have two 10 round magazines that came with my G19 back in 2004-2005. I wanted to know is the body of the magazine the same as the 15 round magazines?
I live in a state that I can own and use high capacity magazines. I'm not sure why my G19 was shipped with two 10 round mags. I'm kind of wondering if I can take those old mags and get a rebuild kit and turn them into 15 round magazines.
If I can't what is the difference between the two?
You could sent them to Glock...ask them to inspect and repair them.....and then ask if they are going to replace them...could they send 15 rounder's back....worked for me.
I have a box in my closet that is just a touch wider than full size mags. I was just putting extra mags in it as I got them.
It has got to the point that I had to go in and stack them them to get any more in. I have a few 10 rounders in 9, 40, & 45.
I was thinking here while back of posting them in the classified, to see if anyone in the states that are restricted to 10's would want to buy or trade, just haven't got A-Round-Towit, yet.
Glock 10 magazines are ribbed on the inside. You'd have to have at least a 4" long shaft on a dremel to even get in there, and all it would do is destroy the magazine anyway. But hicaps are cheap, why bother... Call Glock and see if they will get you the 15 rounders for your 10s. ETS mags are also a good option.
I think I might pick up a few MagPul mags. I trust them in my AR so I should trust them in my GLOCK. I will be picking up my G19 Gen3 next week. I just have to go in and fill out paperwork. I sold my OD Green G19 so I am missing it already. My M&P 9mm is my carry gun for now.
It is hard for me to buy the MagPul when I can go ten bucks more and get factory mags.

The traveling comment is a good point, particularly if you ever intend to travel around New England. Just being caught with undocumented hi caps in New York, or CT, will buy you all kinds of legal problems, and costs.
I don't think that would work reliably, unless they made one specific to a 10 mag, which I don't think they do. The internal dimensions of the base need to match the internal dimensions of the magazine, which is narrower on the 10 round magazines.
I am in Indiana and have a 10 rd G-17 mag someone gave me. I am not advocating anyone break any law(s) just curious "if" it could/would work?
Spring compression in the base plate area is compacted further down so I don't see why not?
Inquiring minds want to know and I am curious now myself.
I purchased a bunch of ten round mags during the dark Clinton days. They are mixed in with my other mags. I should sort them out and use them as range mags only, maybe paint the bottom a color.
