Printing, do you worry about it?

I've been thinking about the dilemma of printing. Does it bother you if you print a little? After all if you're carrying it is legal. I mean in a bad situation you might not want anyone to know you're the one with a gun but still how do you feel about it?

I don't care about printing. Nobody is paying attention to you. After you carry for a while, you will get over it. It's just a phase that noobs go through.
When I pocket carry, to me it seems obvious that there is a gun but not many people are staring at my junk so it's all good!
Yeah, people just aren't paying attention.

I pocket carry and with some pockets the very back of the grip can be seen, along with the bulk of the gun being seen.
At first I gave it some thought but really, people just don't pay any attention.

I just wondered how you guys felt about it. I mean it's legal so who cares if anyone sees? But then someone could freak and yell gun and then you have to take the awkward time to explain yourself. Or cops get called or something. Then if someone is planning something or sees you have a gun they could try to reach for it or something. All weird possibilities that probably won't happen I was just curious I don't really care if someone sees, I mean I'm in NY so obviously carrying in this state is legal but seems a few people frown on it. But also where I live is full of gun loving Americans soooo

A couple months back I had been to the range, and was headed home, with a couple side trips. I first went to the liquor store (big surprise, right?), then went to Wally World to get a few things the wife wanted, then to the feed and grain store to get mulch.

When I got home, unloaded the mulch, put up the groceries and poured a drink or six. The wife reminded me we were meeting friends for supper, and I needed to get in the shower.

I go to get undressed, and only then realized I had been open carrying my 17L the entire time. Know what? Nobody cared.

I'm in a wheelchair and carry in a ankle glove just below my left knee. Nobody looks very close at a wheelchair guy cause it's "rude". And they might think if they see a bulge there its a knee brace. I carry a G42 or a G27/26. A few times I've carried a G19 but its just a bit big to drive with there and I don't want to have to take the Glove on and off in a parking lot.

What on earth are people doing on their phones so much??? I was at a restaurant and every table they were looking at their phones. Is it video games??

When I first carried, I was very self conscious. Paranoid. I usually carry OWB under a suit or sport coat. Worried about printing, wind blowing the coat open, getting out of the car and having the coat snagged over the gun, reaching up, etc.

Over time you relax. I have suble habits of touching my coat bottom to check, look in the mirror at home, and carry sonething in my hand (like a phone) that makes it natural to hold my coat from blowing open.

A few things help. First, a good stiff, tight, gun belt (511) that pulls the top of the gun in tight against my side; a good holster; and clothes that don't fit too tight. The last one motivated me to lose 30 pounds, rather than spend big bucks on new clothes. Also, I carry a double magazine pouch on the opposite side, which provides symmetry - similar lumps on both sides.

Don't think I've ever been made, and I am around cops a lot.

Others are right - no one is that observant, and they aren't looking for it. Just check yourself in the mirror at home, and you'll be good.

If it ever comes up and someone says something, I'm prepared to tell thrm "I have a license" and keep on walking.

Those undesirable outcomes are so unlikely that it's not rational to worry about them unless you also worry about other events that are similarly unlikely, like getting in a car wreck on the way to wherever you'd be printing.

I have carried for years and have only been spotted once. My jacket rode up while I was putting a kid in his car seat, leaving my gun completely exposed. I looked to my right and saw some guy with big eyes looking at me. I acted like I didn't notice him looking at me, got in my vehicle, and drove away. Looking clean-cut and friendly goes a LONG way toward avoiding anybody freaking out.

Also, I have been paying attention for years and have never positively determined that someone was carrying. I have seen all kinds of weird bulges, but I don't know if they're cell phones or whatever.

Not at all could be an insulin pump could be a phone nobody knows and nobody is going to touch me to find out

People don't pay attention. I totally forgot about my backup gun today. When we were leaving a restaurant, my daughter wanted my hoodie to cover up so I made sure I pulled my tshirt over my Glock 32. Totally forgot I had my 33 on my off side sticking out. No one gasped or fainted as we walked out. Forgot it was there until my daughter tried to grab it.

Yes. Shame on me for forgetting to check my backup gun.

As far as noobs carrying, since MO passed constitutional carry recently, a helluva lot more people are doing it, and without much thought put into it. I see people printing on a near daily basis. Most are sagging because of inadequate belts, and quite a few without a holster.

By the way, in discussion with other shooters, a lot more people are paying attention than some of you are letting on. How can so many of you not notice?

While I do what I can to conceal properly, I do not lose any sleep over accidental printing. 99.9% of people don't pay attention anyways.
Well stated.

I carry a G26 everyday with an untucked shirt or pullover. Nobody can see my G26 because it just vanishes.
