What's Your Favorite Pocket Carry and Why?

Rather than risking termination by my non-gun-friendly employer if my IWB 1911 should be revealed, I'm thinking about pocket carry options. Leaning more towards 9MM than .380 but not absolutely opposed. Thoughts? Advice?

I am a pocket gun junkie. My personal criteria for pocket guns is that it must fit in the palm of my hand and be lighter than about 23 ounces fully loaded. I always try to carry as much gun as I can but the Ruger LCP is my floor and all I need is a pair of pants or shorts with pockets and I'm solid.

Using a Sticky™ Holster, I can carry most any medium to small pistol very comfortably, even in jeans, as IWB or front pocket, from G26s to most snubby .38s. The slimmer LC9s feels best but it's more of a weight thing to me and what I'll be doing.
.45s push it a litttle but are still OK.
I'm considering the XDS .45; heard a lot of good comments on it. Would only add a grip wrap since it's so thin.

I'm retired LEO. As a result, I carry concealed all of the time. My primary concealed carry guns are my Shield .45 (IWB at 3:00 under a cover shirt or garment), my S&W M&P340 (in a pocket or at 3:00 OWB under a garment), or my G26 (3:00 OWB/IWB under a garment). I've had others in the past that would likely work in the OP's situation. I've owned the Kahr PM9 that I often pocket carried in a holster. Way back in the dark ages of the '70's I used to carry a 2" S&W M60 IWB or on an ankle. If I were in the OP's situation today, a small .380 like the LCPII or S&W Bodyguard or a J-frame S&W lightweight revolver like the 442/642/340 would be my choice.

P.S.: I always carry reloads, either magazines for the semis or speed loaders or strips for the revolvers. The guns are always carried in a holster, whether in a pocket or the waistband.

Currently my Beretta Nano (9mm). I use the LCP here & there too for pocket carry. Also a very convenient gun. As for why the Nano - I get 9mm in a convenient pocket carry. My favorite carry gun is the G19, but it's not pocket carry for me.

At some point, I'd like to trade out the Nano for G43. I don't care for the Nano finicky performance on ammo. And when it does malfunction, it's major PITA. I know which rounds cause the problem and avoid those rounds. My carry ammo has been run through the gun a lot with no failures...which is why I carry it. However, in general, I don't like guns that are incapable of reliability shooting any factory ammo.

Lots of good feedback here. There's more support for wheel guns than I expected. It just seems that a semi-auto would be slimmer and easier to slip into a pocket without having it show but maybe the J Frame deserves another look...

I carry a Taurus "Ultra-Lite Titanium" .38Spl 2" in a "BLACKHAWK TECGRIP INSIDE-THE-POCKET" size 4 holster. It works just fine in the right rear pocket of my Bib Overalls. I don't feel it & if it print's, it's like a thin wallet. Never wear anything but Bib's with open Denim shirt on outside. Many times I almost walked into Courthouse or Post Office because I don't feel it & forget it's there. The holster will carry a SAR B6P in the same place too, but backstrap of grip is slightly above top of pocket. No problem since shirt covers it.

I carry either the S&W 642-2 with 125 grain +p Remington Golden Sabres in .38 sp or the Bodyguard .380 with 100 grain solids in a cool wallet holster that I can pull out of my pocket in a crowd and only CCW's would recognize it is a handgun. In the winter I sometimes carry my S&W .357 640 that I never feel undergunned with. It is stoked with the golden sabre 125 grain .357's that I believe are quite easy to control. It is not super hot but significantly better than any .38 special +p's.
