Hello all,

does anybody know what type of powder and which amount of it is used in the original Norma ammo?

No, but it was a mild load. It was also the only factory loaded round for 10mm.

I had the original delta elite and 10mm was not in the loading manuals. We got the loads out of gun magazines.

Norma's were pud loads. I was shooting max loads of blue dot and each shot was a planet wrecker. And the case went a good 11 feet........

Well, my research says that the Norma load was a 200 gn bullet with abt. 1300 fps. I just couldn't find out the powder used. I wouldn't call 200gn@1300fps mild ;-)

I have boxes of both the 170gr and 200gr.

Out of a G20.4 w/ LW 5.2" barrel @ 70 degrees:

200gr 1,125 fps
170gr 1,283 fps

Not quite the stuff of legend, but respectable :)
Interesting stuff. Thanks for sharing. I wonder if age of the ammo had anything to do with it? But I can also say, Glock barrels are the slowest of any of my barrels in 10mm. Every aftermarket barrel I have shoots faster than a stock Glock barrel.

I was early into the 10mm back when Norma loaded for it. My chrono results were right at 1200fps from my then new Delta. The 170gr were closer to 1250fps. So no 1400fps loads ever.
