My local shop had a Glock 19 that says Larry Vickers on the tag. But the interesting thing is the grip. It looks and feels like RTF2. Is that what it is?

$599 is the asking price. I really like the sights. Tall front post with a brass bead. The rear is a wide notch so you get light on each side of the front post. I didn't know about the internals. I'll strip it down when I go back and take pics of everything.

I almost canceled my G29 order to get it lol I love the G19, and personally think it's the greatest carry pistol ever built. The Gen4 I had, was the softest shooting, easiest handling 9mm I've ever shot.

This is the third run of Vickers editions now, but the first one in standard black (previous issues were FDE and gray). There are supposedly only 3,000 of this issue made in the model 19 so for a price of $599 it would be hard to beat (considering the upgraded sights and grip as well as the Vickers tactical parts included). I bought a total of six of these models because the last two issues have appreciated like crazy (an FDE 19 sold a couple weeks ago on GunBroker for $1380).

$599 is a good price for that gun. It has a gold bead front sight.

The Vickers parts are included, not installed.

Its a gen 3,so gen 3 innards.

The rtf2 19 is my favorite carry pistol.

Terlingueno, maybe you can write off the price on your taxes? If you like
G19s Im pretty sure you would enjoy shooting this one. Ok,more than
pretty sure.
Naw, I put sand paper grips on anyway, so I don't need RTF2. Besides, I am all about 15 year old $325 dollar Glocks now.

I'll see if I can dig up a reputable article with the production numbers. The FDE series was 5,000 total split evenly between 17s and 19s and released in 2014. The gray models were the 2015 release and in the same numbers. The 19s have always been more popular so they were supposedly shifting production to 3,000 and 2,000 17s, but I'll have to see if I can find confirmation from Glock.

I'm not calling you a liar bud, I just wanted to make sure it was a good source before I get it for my wife.

The mag on this one had the floor plate installed. Does that mean they opened the VT pack? I was under the impression it comes with a mag catch, slide stop, Butt plug/tool, and mag floor plates In a sealed pack. Then it has Wilson Combat sights.

If the pack is open, is the value hurt?

Which I shouldn't be worried about, she's going to shoot it and carry it. But I bet she will have the coolest gun in her ladies concealed carry course.

Thank you sir! There is no such thing as being too informed. I'm going to be waiting at their door Monday morning. They told me they had a 17 in the back they hadn't displayed. I'm going to ask that he fix the magazine back to stock and give me the bag out of the 17. This will be my wife's gun, if she wants the magazine floor plates, I will install them for her. The sights on it is fantastic and it will be a great aid in her sharpening her skills.

Before this, she wanted a purple LC9s. So I'm happy that she chose a Glock. She hated the 43,so I thought it would never happen. As soon as I handed it to her she said "I love the feel of this", and now she wants it. So if they didn't sell it Friday after I left, I'll be the first in the door Monday to lay it away. I wish I could just buy it now, but ive still got to pay the other $400 whenever my 29 gets there, then it's here at Christmas, our 12 year old wants everything lol, plus the wife's medical issues has hit us hard. But whenever I get it out, I'll give a full report. LA, I will take a pic of the serial number Monday. Also, working in a friend's shop on and off since 2005 taught me a lot. First thing I did was take the slide off, inspect the tip of the barrel hood for wear and check the inside of the slide where the barrel rubs. I also learned to hold them in bright light at changing angles, look for a purple hue to see if they tried to cover wear with a marker.

The good thing about glocks is that, even if they're used, you don't have to worry much about if it'll still work lol.
If she does like the Vickers parts and you want to keep it original, you could always buy the Vickers stuff separately and keep the sealed bag.
Hope it all works out and that you enjoy your new Glocks!

The serialized gun may be a limited edition but a plastic bag of baseplates isn't. If you think the complete kit including the gun will be worth some small fortune in the future then why is it being purchased for carry? If you think it's ****ty then put it on lay away somewhere else.

And I'm willing to bet you've never tried removing a baseplate from a Glock mag. Because if you have there is no way your be telling the store clerk to put it back to stock.

I have changed plenty of Glock base plates. Yes, they are a PITA. Will make you develop new cuss words.
Admittedly, changing the base plate on a Glock magazine is a pain if you only use the armorer's tool.

This, however, makes it painless, and it also prevents damage to the tabs on each side of the magazine:

Slick, you might ask if they have one "in the back" that has not been on display. I did
and they did. Much ado about nothing? Maybe, but I don't want anything opened or messed with
in any way if I am buying a "new" gun. If you just don't care then get a 15 year old gun like Terlingueno.
Not that there's anything wrong with that,in fact I can see the value, clearly.

L.A.Tactical,thank you for the great pics and info. Well done, sir! You can buy the Vickers/Wilson gold bead sight just like the one on the black rtf2.

mariposa,I had some guns to trade in when the grey rtf2 came out. Got a grey. Shot it,really liked it,
so got another one at the same place. Then, when the black came along I snagged one of those. 2 grey
one black. (I filed and sandpapered R side of trigger guard of one of the greys already.)

Vickers tends to bring out the ire/hate from some. I don't really get all that. They are decent guns that can be purchased at decent prices.
PS:I think the logo on LV's hat is a velcro patch. He just got off center a little. He did better with the sights at 250 yards! 10mm cool.

Chop Suey, you hit the nail on the head. As I said up above, its not about value or resale. I just want to be the one to open it. It's like having someone take the wrapping off your presents at Christmas. Can you imagine being a kid, and running to the living room on Christmas morning and there is just items under the tree, unwrapped. Sure it's the same gift, but the anticipation and unwrapping is half of the excitement.

Yeah, I wouldn't be too worried about whether the bag is opened or not OTHER than in determining whether the gun is new or used (which should influence the sale price).

As I posted a couple of days ago, there is a lot of debate about whether or not Glocks are or ever will be collectible and it draws a bunch of hate from both sides. I don't like to get into all that, other than to point out sales prices of some of the more rare models out there.

But, real talk, the RTF2 grip is bada$$ and the easiest way to get it on a 19 is with the Vickers black edition. Any other variation is going to cost you $800+. And if you decide to get one, you want to be informed about what you're purchasing.

Thanks for the kind words and Glock on!
