Anyone have one of these? I've been scoping out AR10's and saw one at my LGS. Light compared to my Sig 716, but it's twice the price.

A friend has one. I've owned DPMS, Armalite, Knights, Noveske, Daniel Defense and a LMT. I prefer the LMT to all others. The Wilson is a great deal better than the Sig. Will be more accurate as well.

Think Buick vs Mercedes.

Don't own one, have shot them 3 times. Based on that and inspection, better than most, but not as good as some others. Picking a .308 is more complicated and the same brand/answer is not always best for everyone. I still contend that most .308s are shot little, sit in safes a lot, and if they were run, there would be a lot more complaints...and some forums might even crash.

For me, LMT and DD are my top picks. But I have also recommended JPRifles and Les Baers. In my opinion, .308s need adjustable gas, and most eat gas blocks. Most eat bolts too. Only piston .308 I would look at is the FNScar. I have gone through 6 .308 pattern ARs, mostly the same as faawrenchbender, and the DD5V1 is the best I have had so far.

have gone thru 6 . . . .broken, shot out ?
Was there a Ruger716 in the mix? that adjustable and chrome lined.
Any one you seen use a DSA SA58? heard they were heavy but reliable?
LMT's are sweet but OMG on the $tag.
I'm currently looking . . . but it will be the last long gun . . . . .

All of the above reasons caused me to buy a HK91 clone for $800 (plus $150 for 100 magazines, most of them new). The technology is proven and they are standardized, unlike the (otherwise great) FAL (inch vs metric)

Mags are dirt cheap. I have an HK91 bought in the 80's for $489.00. Cheaper than Dirt used to have the aluminum mags for as low as $1.97 per. I have enough (that are loaded) to last me years. It is a beast though.

Even with the heavy duty buffer, it is definitely the hardest kicking 308/7.62 I have, even though it weighs a ton.

The availability of cheap mags was a MAJOR factor in the decision making process. I know a guy who got his box of 100 G3 mags for under $100, but that was about 8 years ago. I bought mine last year. Even now you can find them for about $2.50 each, if you buy a bunch.

And one reason I prefer the DD over the LMT. 1.7 pounds lighter is a lot when carried. Softer recoil and faster twist barrel are the other two main factors.

I was a bit disapointed at the lack of small parts availability. Can't even buy small parts and springs. If it goes down, you are screwed until DD sends parts or repairs the rifle.

MarkCo. If someone were looking for a 308 to shoot a little (maybe 200-500 rounds a year) what AR would you recommend? Or should I go with a DSA/FN/FAL?
JP recently changed the specs on their .308 barrels, and for the better IMHO One of my shooters just rebarreled his LRP07 with the new spec barrel and it shoots softer, will likely last longer and the chamber is not as tight as they used to be. They also have the high pressure bolt and reduced diameter firing pin hole. I think that moves them in front of the LMTs and I would probably recommend that in first place for a lower round count, precision .308 at this time.
