No vertical G21/20 shoulder holster love? :(

How come no one offers a decent VERTICAL G21/20 shoulder holster w/o have to go to either the one extreme of the cheap nylon ones like you see in "Cheaper Than Dirt" or the "Sportsman's Guide" or the other way with high end ones from a custom maker? :(

The Galco VHS would be a happy medium, but sadly they do not offer it for the larger framed .45 / 10mm Glocks? :(

Not enough demand? I've owned one in my life for a 1911 and it was uncomfortable so I never even thought of getting one again. Don't get me wrong I love my large framed Glock but at the same time I bet plenty would make you one custom order.

Well that sucks :(

I've seen a few of the custom makers that could probably make something close to the Galco design, or at least improve on it as far as the holster it's self goes. Might come down to that in the end. :(

I've already got the Galco VHS for my 17 and like the design, I just figure if I'm going to go that big I'd like to go all the way then and run either a 21 or a 20 in a setup like that. Not to mention I'm one of those also that is more of a fan of the vertical vs the horizontal shoulder holster carry for a number of reasons.........................

Yeah, I've been thinking about this since I first posted, and I think the only way I'm going to be able to do this is either piece together something that is a combo of different manufactures (like the harness and mag carrier from Galco and the holster from another manufacture), OR go full out and have a custom rig made. :(

I kind of want to go the Galco route first, as I can always piece out the harness and mag carrier if it doesn't work, or reuse them for other purposes.

I'm seriously considering trying to use a Safariland ALS holster for this and ordering a sheet of kydex to make a custom mounting plate for the holster to hang off of the straps if I can figure out how to make it work? Seems like it would be too much bulk under the arm horizontal carry, but hung a little lower it might work vertically? Plus I already have SL ALS holsters for both the 21 and 30. :)

I'd really love to see this setup work more so for carrying a 20 this way. :)

There isn't enough demand for one. Most people don't carry that way and even fewer with the 20/21. Why are you wanting a shoulder holster?

My preferred winter carry, and I'd rather carry vertical than horizontal.

I've seen some online, but I'm not sure of their quality as opposed to going all in for a high end one. :(

The X-15 is an option, although I'd prefer black, and I prefer the Galco style harness and mag carriers.

Purchasing a second hand X-15 or another manufacture's holster alone to use with the Galco setup is an option though?

What I have done was to order components to make the perfect shoulder holster for me. I use a Galco Miami Classic horizontal holster and mate it with a Bianchi single side X15 harness made for a vertical shoulder holster. This carries great and I have been using it for years. I have one to carry my large frame and small frame Glocks. I carry my G20 in one bowhunting and wear it for 10-12 hours a day. It carries great and I hardly know it's there. With the small holster I carry my G23 in.
I never could get use to the standard MC holster.

I've considered going this route with either the X15 holster or another manufacture's holster, especially since considering I'd really prefer it in black and the X15 is only available in brown. :(

One thing I've always wondered about the X15 and you're the only person I know of that has one you can tell me is how is the G20 retained in it? Strap, spring loaded opening, tension only, or is it just hang in it from gravity and you simply draw it?

I had played with the Galco VSH holster and a G17 at one point and was not 100 happy with the way it's retaining strap is setup/designed - seems like it's awkward to release and draw from (?). :(

I only use the X15 harness, the holster is a Galco MC horizontal.
I can tell you a vertical carry is not even close to horizontal in comfort and concealment. The holster uses a thumb snap and tension from the holster. It has an adjustable tension screw.

Yeah sorry, I misunderstood you reading your post too fast :)

I want the reverse situation of what you have - the Galco harness with the X15 HOLSTER. :) LOL

I am familiar with the Galco MC holster wise, and again I have played with their VSH setup too, but it is only available for the 9/40 sized guns. :(

I would simply prefer the vertical carry method instead though, or at least want to try it with the 20/21 too see if I like it. Again it will probably come down to trying a combination of the Galco harness and someone else's holster to make it work for me.
