my glock 19 I'm having issues with field stripping.

I pull trigger then I pull down on the slide lock and the slide lock kinda locks down and does not spring up and down. When I push or pull on the slide the trigger resets and slide will not remove. If I force it alittle it sometimes comes off but I know this is not right because my other three glocks do not do this.

If it's a Gen4, the RSA plate is hanging up in the frame. It will get better as it cuts it's own path. Just do like normal and it will come apart. Once it's apart, look in the RSA seat in the frame and you will see what I am talking about. Happens on Gen4's quite often.

Sounds like your slide lock spring is broken for starters, or somehow not aligned right. It's been awhile but you just press down on the spring and wiggle the lock out of the slot with the slide off. Not sure about gen2 but I'm sure you can Google it.

Whether it's the slide lock spring or not, the Gen2's original spring was revised from a wasp-waisted shape to a full width shape (p/n 2317).

The main problem is if the slide lock spring has broken off and the remaining piece cannot be removed from the frame. If so, Glock will need to replace the frame. If you can get the old spring out without leaving any pieces in the frame, disregard, but get that new slide lock spring.

Gen 2. I agree with the others, look at the slide lock. The Achilles heel of the Glock line, unfortunately. But easy to fix and be proactive with.

Domino1, thank you for the comment. I had my slide lock spring break in my 2002 vintage G23gen3. Luckily, I was able to get the remaining part of the spring out easily and install the updated part.

Yes. Replace the old slide lock spring with the new version.
