Thinking of trading my Shield 9mm in on the Gen 4 G26... I just honestly feel better with the Glock than the Smith... Any G26 owners willing to weigh in with their 2 cents?

The Stealthgear Onyx is a nice holster but the clips are too
far apart for me. Not sure why they do that. I sent mine back for a refund.
I remember we ordered around the same time, I kept mine for my 19, but stealth gear has a new version of the Onyx that has the clips closer together, so you might want to check that out if you liked the holster other then the wide clip spacing.
I ordered one of these new mini holsters for my G43

Like a few others so far, I'm saying hold on to the Shield and get the 26. I had a 26, sold it (Don't ask...just another hair brained spate of foolishness.) and then tried the SR9c (hated it) and then the Smith M&P9c (liked it a lot better but the trigger...well, it ain't a Glock trigger, let's say that and leave well enough alone because aside from that, it was terrific..) and then got a Shield. Still though, it wasn't a 26. A 26 is a 26 and other guns aren't. Well said, right? So, eventually I did in fact get another 26 just recently. Then last week, I got another as a spare. That being said, we can assume that I like and value the 26 enough to come back to it full circle, X's two in fact. However, the Shield while not having an optimum trigger (for me) and not being mag compatible with all my other 9mm. Glocks, is a pretty damned good, solid, concealable and reasonably priced and exceptionally accurate (for me) pistol that is better served with me in my possession, than not. Because the Shield is such a good value for quality, I'd park it in your safe and pay it no mind while you get your 26 on, but chances are you won't being seeing the last of that Shield in a carry rotation.

In law just got a shield, said he got it cause he could use it as a lefty. I had to break the news to him that Gen4 Glocks could be switched. I own the 27 in .40, a 26/19/43, and a 42.
I prefer the 27 and don't see anything different than price of ammo.

That "replacement" warranty is pretty insane.

Cannot believe they would even say that. I mean I believe you but...dam.
I probably would have ranted and gotten all squeaky-voiced with them. At least.

Guess I won't be looking as closely at the Shield 45acp as I originally
thought.

It's my only Glock and I like it so much that I've ordered another one, which will be dedicated to low light situations with a Streamlight TLR-6. Can't wait to get the second gun set up the same; Ameriglo Proglo front sight, stock rear sight, stock trigger. For home and car defense, the G26 is ideal with a 15-round magazine and adapter. Handles like a G19, capacity of a G19, but with the accuracy that I've only obtained with a G26 in many IDPA matches and the occasional BUG or USPSA shoot.

My 2 G26 holsters are Galco, not saying that is the only brand I buy, as I don't own a Galco from my other guns. I got the Galco Concealable Belt holster because it is contoured to go around the hip, with 2 pieces of leather. So the molding is on the outside and it does not pull the gun into my hip. Very comfortable.

Then I got the Scout clip on IWB. I use a clip on IWB and wear it under the belt and outside the pants when I have 5.11 pants or shorts on. The extra exterior strap on the 5.11 gear holds the holster in place. Then this holster clips on the map pocket on driver's side door for when I am driving and want easy access rather than having my gun strapped underneath my seat belt.

My G26 is back in CCW rotation in a new Clinger Stingray kydex, single-clip IWB.

Small, thin, tidy set up that is very comfortable...and comforting.

Glad you still like your 26. I got one a few months ago for a sometime pocket and athletic shorts carry. It supplanted my 19 as my EDC. I like it with the 12 round mag unless I need deeper concealment. Shoots great, reliable, accurate, easy to carry. Everything I want.

Shields and the 43 are to skinny for my hands to shoot comfortably, I much prefer the thicker doublestack grip (even the Ruger SR9c ended up too thin for my tastes).

My G26 outshoots my G17. But my Shield carries much easier due to the single stack grip and that and my Springfield XD subcompact are probably my most accurate subs.

Why can't you have both? There isn't a gun out there that can do it all.

My wife is why I can't have both lol she is a tough negotiator and I generally lose most negotiations... Sad but true lol

You can't have your wife and a gun? Tough choice.

Maybe not now, but fortunately, they aren't expensive so maybe after time, you can acquire another. (Gun that is, not a wife. They are never cheap in the long run.)

I have both, and agree the G26 feels better in the hand, but the Shield is more comfortable for everyday carry and it really shoots well out to 20 yards. The G26 also pinches my pinky between the well and the floor plate when firing, not bad, just annoying. I figure, if draws well, conceals well, is comfortable, and shoots well - you'll carry and train with it. The G26 is great gun, and a shoot it well. I have XS big dots on both for carry.
