A 14 year old male speeds his illegal minibike through a residential area, while Detroit police briefly chase him. 10 seconds after the chase is called off, he runs a stop sign, striking a 2004 Pontiac Gran Prix. His mother (the one wailing) was there to witness it.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the mother try to blame the police for this. Need to keep that video to prove that the police had nothing to do with the crash.
Momma let him ride that, or did he ride that without her permission?????
Root cause analysis, he would have never hit that car, if he had pulled over when the lights went on.
From my perspective, more young black men would live if they were taught how to respond to being pulled over properly, than if Police were given additional training.
The cop stopped, and that didn't stop this kid from dying by his own actions.
MInibike racing seems to be a popular sport in the big D. They race every Sunday on a public street on the west side running some fast, Expensive equipment. Most police leave them alone because they are pretty organized.
People just need to learn that when the Police light you you need to stop and deal with the punishment. Probably a good talking to. Consequences of not stopping can kill you.
Prayers for the family of this kid. Poor decision making and/or evil intent, he left the earth too soon. I grew up with idiots like him, and some turned out pretty good adults.
Also, think about that poor family's yard on the corner that the officer trenched. Hope it grows back tall and healthy.
Wagers on how long before a notice to sue is filed?
