Hey guys! I bought my first glock a year ago. It's been a great gun, no problems at all. But I feel like this is a ton of wear.. It's been carried a lot in a serpa holster by me, (walks in the woods, and at the range). Also practiced drawing a lot. It hasn't had any rusting problems. What would you do with it? Leave it as is? have it refinished? Thanks
It's a carry gun. Any gun you carry is bound to get dings and scratches from using it and carrying it. I say continue to shoot and carry the piss out of it, as is.
I would not have it refinished because that would not bother me and my guess is most finishes would start to show similar wear maybe just later.
If it really bothered me then I could see spending the hundred dollars or whatever and resign myself to doing that every year or four as part of routine maintenance.
Those are not wrinkles (dings), those are character lines. True (as I think) when talking about women, or Glocks. I am being serious, and would not "improve" either, as that is how I like both.
You should see what my Kimber looks like after not that much CC time. That CCW looks fine. When people tell me they carry and show me a LNIB pistol, I think "sure you carry, Pfft"
Doesn't effect the treatment of the metal underneath the finish which is the important part. Any carry gun is going to develop holster wear if you're doing it right. Carry on.
