I started out with S&W Revolvers, only had one Colt. Then got into 1911 Colts. And several years ago, Glocks. I've never had a Pretty Revolver, or Pistol. I switched to Stainless Revolvers, because they didn't Rust. I switched to Stainless 1911's for the same reason. I didn't get into Glocks till they came up with the 40 cal. Now I have Glocks in 9mm, 40 cal, & 45 acp, and two conversions for 22 cal.
You can't say a Glock is pretty, but it looks good to me. You don't have to clean it every time you shoot, but some do.
I didn't get into Glocks when they first came out, because they only had a 9mm. As I came up in Law Enforcement, If you carried an Automatic Pistol, it was a Colt 45, or Browning Hi-Power 9mm.
None of them would function well with Hollow Points, and there were few around. The 9's tended to just zip threw someone, and not even slow them down. The Big old 45 would stop them. Or that was the rumors. When Glock came out with the 40, and I read all the things about them, I decided to try one.
I went to a range and rented one and bought a G-22 that day. I still have 4, 40 cal Glocks, 3- 9mm, 2- 45s and 2- 22cal conversions. I only have 1- SS Springfield 1911, and 1- SS S&W 357.
My feelings about Handguns have changed through the years.
Glocks Work.
