At my second job today, I noticed how cheap lcp has gotten. Massive price drop. The clerks told me that the same thing happened with the lc9. Massive price drop, sold off what they had avaliblem then the lc9s came out. There thinking that a striker lcp may be coming based on trend. Sounds like a winner to me
That would be a fantastic development. My wife's LCP is a great carry piece. Shooting it however is less than great due to the very long and heavy trigger pull.
it was the price drop mirroring the lc9 overhaul that triggered speculation, not any actual rumors, i hope its true, i carry an lcp custom and a striker version would jump to the top of my list.
If a striker-fired version is about to be released, I'm very glad I already own a pair of hammer-fired LCP's (one previous version & one present version).
The current LCP has one of the smoothest and lightest triggers I could ask for in such a small .380, but then I'm a revolver shooter who likes DA/DAO snubs.
Hopefully, if Ruger decides to convert their LCP to a hammer-fired LCPs, they'll be able to get their short striker firing pin spring strong enough to consistently ignite all the .380 ACP ammo on the market.
I have not fired the striker fired Rugers, like the LC9s, but I really like the trigger on the LCP and shoot it pretty well. That said, I'm always for more choices for us consumers.
I would look at a new striker version if they produce it (unless the price jumps back up a $100). The newer Gen 2 guns aren't bad at all, IMO. It is a little long but not too heavy for a micro sized pocket-carried gun. My Gen 2 measures 6 1/2 pounds and doesn't preclude reasonable accuracy.
trigger aint bad for a small gun, but thats not saying much, it's like saying an ugly chick is hot if you compare here to Hillary Clinton. if i can improve the pull, on one of these little guns I will
