I gotta say I was not expecting to like it as much as I did because I am more into the classic SIG P220 line, but honestly it felt great in the hand and the trigger was really nice. I personally feel the trigger is much better than any factory Glock offering and most any other polymer pistol. I think eventually somewhere down the line I will probably end up with a compact 320.

I didn't sell my 19 when I got the p320 because one of the major wins from the glock over the sig is size efficiency.

P320 is fat and heavy for 15 rounds compared to the glock.

P320 wins in all other departments for me though.

Agree with this. Of the "too many" polymer strikers I currently own I would be hard pressed to choose between the PPQ, VP9 and FNS as my favorite. So I don't.

I like the P320 and enjoy shooting it, but if I were to have to start thinning the herd it would be on the sell list. But that time hasn't arrived so I'll keep and shoot the whiz out of it, and it shoots very well indeed.

The fact that I like the P320 is odd since I'm not a Sig admirer. I tried to be some years ago and bought new a P228, P220 and P229. Crunchy triggers on all of them especially the 228, which I called my "cornmeal gun" because the trigger felt like someone had poured cornmeal inside it. No amount of cleaning, dry fire or live fire could fix it. I've read of how good the trigger on some 228s were but mine was terrible.

I sold the others and sent the 228 off to Teddy Jacobson for his action and trigger work. In my years of gun ownership that is the only handgun I've ever had any kind of trigger or action work done on. When Teddy sent it back it was butter smooth. I shot and carried it for a few years then traded it to buy a new gee whiz sporting clays over/under that I just had to have at the time.

Of the many guns I've sold/traded over the years, that P228 is one I wish I had back. It was a joy to shoot. Not because of the way Sig sold it to me but because of the work of a superb pistolsmith.

I would pose the reason you enjoyed the P320 over all but the worked-over P228 is that in all but form, given the fact the P320 is nearly identical to the P250 outwardly, the P320 is completely different in function than the all metal Sig offerings that fell so short of your expectations.

The specific aspects of the disappointing all metal Sigs that you didn't like, the triggers, happen to be one of the P320's strongest advantages. Even when comparing the P320 to striker-fired, polymer offerings from other makers, the P320 is easily somewhere in the top 5, maybe even in the top 3 with the PPQ and VP9.

And let's not forget, if you get a great trigger on a P320 right out of the box, or after you spend some time breaking it in to the point you like it, or you have it worked on by a good pistolsmith, you can keep that same exact trigger for each and every P320 configuration and combination you want to invest in. This is a great feature in my book, and makes the prospect of spending some extra money to have your trigger customized to exactly how you like it, one of the best bangs for the buck you can get.

Geez, I really am NOT trying to sound like a P320 fanboy. Before I owned one, I was actually quite critical of them. Oh well, I guess I'll go ahead and punch my ticket on board the P320 bandwagon. I own it, I shoot it, I carry it and much to my pleasant surprise, it is outstanding.
Agree that the trigger is very good and it was the final selling point for me to buy one. With the exception of that Sig 228, my handguns have always been kept with the stock trigger.

I now have extra magazines and a holster for my 320 which for me means it's a keeper. I don't buy those things for a gun until I'm pretty sure that I'm hanging on to it for the foreseeable future.

Thanks.

I had a P320 .45 acp. I shot it well and was considering carrying it as a duty weapon, that is until I started trying to find a duty holster for it. I sold it and went back to carrying my M&P 45 mid size.

I have a P320c 9mm at the moment. It's ok. I shoot it well enough, feels better in the hand than a Glock 19 and is reliable. For some reason I just have not bonded with it. I'm thinking it may get sold eventually.

Cliff, we are all different and it the 320 isn't creating a warm and fuzzy for you then you should sell it without remorse and find something that does.

The beauty of living in the United States, at least as of July 2016, is that we have a wonderful array of handguns from different quality makers and their many models. Looking only at 15 to 17-round striker fired polymer handguns consider how many good choices are out there. Not sure how the handgun landscape will look this time next year if HillaryBeast is elected, but maybe that won't happen.

Wishing you good luck with your next handgun choice.

I have a Sig P320 Compact 9mm and it's been great so far. A couple thousand rounds with no issues and it's comfortable to carry. It does seem rather large next to my G19 though, it's much taller and just overall bulky. The magazines are also a little expensive IMO, used to buying nothing but $20-$25 Glock mags my entire life.
Only issue I have is sometimes my trigger finger gets a sting while firing. Not sure what the issue is but Sig came out with a new "adverse trigger" that doesn't sting. I would like to pick one up and install it but Sig doesn't sell the trigger and they want me to send the pistol to them so they can complete the work. That would be fine if they didn't need 3 months or longer to get the job done.
Overall it's been a good pistol and functions flawlessly. If I can get rid of that trigger sting issue I would be 100% satisfied with it.

PaLEO, a number of shooters have reported the "sting" caused by the rather sharp pointed P320 trigger. I bought mine during the winter and used shooting gloves to fire it at my outdoor gun club ranges. No trigger finger problems. Come spring and shooting the Sig bare-handed I found that I would get a bloody blister on the bottom of my trigger finger in less than a box of ammo. What was happening is that under recoil my finger would slip between the sharp tip of the trigger and the trigger guard and pinch. After 30-40 of these pinches I would have a big bloody blister. My finger and the Sig trigger were not compatible.

Even after building up a callous on that finger it still hurt to shoot the gun. And it shouldn't hurt to shoot a handgun. I read about the adverse trigger but doubted it would fix the problem since it is basically the same shape trigger as the original.

I ordered and installed an Apex flat trigger in my P320 and it was an instant fix. No more bloody trigger finger. It's the first flat trigger I've ever owned and I like it a lot. The P320 was fun to shoot again.

Brownell's would love to sell you the Apex trigger and you can install it yourself although it isn't quite as easy as the Apex YouTube video makes it out to be due to the tricky reinstallation of a spring. Just something for you to consider.

Good luck in finding a solution to the stinging trigger finger.
