I emailed Magguts regarding any future plans to produce a +1 Kit for the Glock 36 magazine. Here is the reply I recieved.

Hi William,

Thank you for your detailed input.

While we would eventually like to address almost all single stack applications, the Glock 36 has been low on the popularity scale. We have, though, been receiving more requests for it. We will certainly be looking into that one in the future.

I'm kind of disappointed but I do realize they are right the 36 is low on the Glock popularity scale. However I believe ironically round the round count to size ratio is a big reason. If Magguts could produce a +1 kit that would add one round to the current magazine size and bring the capacity up to 7 + 1 It would make the 36 a much more attractive option.
I figure I would put a post up for anyone interested in a Magguts 36 kit. I would encourage anyone interested in a kit to email Magguts at info@magguts.com

Thanks for taking time out to read my post and hopefully we will see a Magguts solution sometime in the near future.

Thanks for the information. I have two + 1 extensins now (Pearce). I'm not too happy with them. I need to glue them to the mags to get them to stay on, even then they regularly come apart.

I can, and do, carry a spare mag for extra ammo.

If manic, you can step up to the fat-assed G30 series.

The reason that I got the G36 is... because they are Thin, Light weight, and Compact... .45 ACPs.

Mag Extensions are "tits on a Boar Hog" to the G36.

Want to drive a really appreciated new product?

How about a Five(5) round flush mag for the G36... ?

To make it an even Lighter weight, and more Compact, .45 ACP.

But that's just me.

I'm on board with the five round flush fit mag. I seen a post awhile back where someone modified their stock six rounded and made it a flush fit five rounder. It turned out really well. Hopefully we will see a five round magazine in the future....I'm doubtfully but it would be nice. Oh and I still want to see Magguts put out a kit for the 36. LOL!

A G36 Five-round flush mag would be the cat's vag***!

Someone will make a pretty penny off of them.

It was definitely a fun project and makes for a cool custom mag. As noted in the post I got the idea from a guy who posted the concept on here back in 2011. His pics were no longer up so went off his written summary and made my own tweaks along the way. Good luck!

The 5-round magazine has held up fine and works great, but I don't use it that much as I don't shoot my G36 much anymore. The gun itself was 100% reliable until the one time I actually needed it. A hungry coyote approached our campfire while we were cooking steaks. Fired one round at it and the G36 double-fed. It was loaded with HSTs in a factory 6-rd mag. Fortunately the coyote ran off but that single malfunction made me lose some faith in it despite having otherwise been 100% reliable.
Lightning strikes, stoppages occur... and the G36 is as reliable as any other GLOCK.

Until it occurs repeatedly... I would ignore it.

Respectfully disagree. Although I like the G36 and am not selling it, the G36 does unfortunately seem to have more problems reported than some other models.

And there are other Glocks with known issues. For example, Gen 3 G23's not cycling reliably with weapon-mounted lights, and the early Gen 4 G19 recoil spring assembly issues, amongst others.

Thus my experience has been not all models are equally reliable.

I would tend to worry about something like this with any of several modifications

Bruce, appreciate your feedback and agree in regards to internal modifications on carry guns. But note that in my post I said the malfunction occurred with the factory 6 round mag. The modified 5 round mag I have only used at the range. The gun is otherwise stock except for night sights.

Have Two, Had Three, shoot Five regularly - Zero (0.0) operational malfunctions of Any kind after Thousands of rounds.

They are GLOCKs.

And, being a light weight, compact .45 ACP, are even more prone to malfunction due to Shooter incompetence.

I have never wanted to add any magazine extension parts.. I like my 36 the way it is. If you need bigger I love my g20 and g21 as well. You might just consider changing to a double stack 9mm or 40 ... or just carry a spare mag with your 36... I do

In just at 900 rounds I had one stove pipe just ran my hand across the top of the slide ,knocked it free an keep shooing !! Only time my 36 failed ! I trust it an Carrie one everyday , I also Carrie an extra Mag with a pierce +1 on it an never had a issue with that etheir an never had a finger pinch an I have a normal sized hand for my size ! Any firearm is prone to failure at some point whether it's the guns fault or shooter error .

I run Wolff +10% mag springs and suffer no feeding troubles.

https://www.gunsprings.com/GLOCK ®/cID1/mID5/dID116#148

SKU 79243 for a 3 pak.

It's a light little gun that must shake the mag severely and used to cause me to have stovepipes etc.

These springs keep the next round securely in place.

Um...I'm no expert but your G36 looks different than mine

As a mass produced, kinda sloppy machine, sometime a little enhancement goes a long way.

Extra mag holster?
