still only gives you 8 rounds. and side by side comparison shows the 43 is not much smaller than the 19 so why even bother with the 43 The width and weight are what make the 43 appealing. But a good holster belt combo can conceal the 19 no mater what the body size.
I will take my 19 all day long

It's to show the ridiculous of the people asking for a single stack 19 because it already exists.
Until you carry a 43 you don't realize how YUUUGE the difference a slimmer gun makes. Every gun is concealable but the difference is how comfortable it is while doing so, and the 43 beats every other Glock than the 42 at that.
I never understand why someone buys a subcompact gun especially glocks and tries to make them the size of a Glock 19. Just buy a 19 and keep your 43/26 etc a subcompact for which it was designed to be. To each their own.
I'm 6' 265# have enough mass and bulges to conceal a full size 1911. However, the g43 is waaaay more comfortable. And more comfortable to carry than my g19 as well.
The smaller size of the 43 and keeping it that way is why I prefer the Taran +1 over the +2 for carry.
I should really get rid of my three TTI +2 extensions and pick up one or two TTI +3 extensions for the reloads and call it good.
Here's the first gen TTI +1 & +2 extensions in the 43
I will always go by the mottos " carry the biggest gun you can" and " carrying is supposed to be comforting not comfortable." All these G43 threads are starting to sound like a tampon commercial.
A friend of mine is 6'6, 290 lbs and he carries a S&W 629, 6" IWB and no one ever knows it. At 6' & 180 I carried a 1911 full size IWB, no one ever said anything about me having it. I now am 210, and 6' and carry a G-19 or a G-23
OWB
If I encountered a gentleman that size, I'd make sure I didn't notice anything that might piss him off......
Seriously, carry what you can, and what you're comfortable with. For those of us who aren't cops, and have a choice of avoiding places that are apt to be troublesome, a lot less gun is just fine. If you can hide a big piece, go for it.

If you're talking about just drawing casually and shooting a few rounds, I guess the single-stack's carryability is attractive. But when you get down to seriously handling a Glock, the double-stack grip is way more of an asset than a liability.
Nutter, it was to show the ridiculousness of the people that ask for a single stack 19 because it already exists. With 9mm that 0.6" barrel difference is only about 50FPS.
Here are two more pics that further show proof a single stack 19 already exists for the non-believers.

Do they make those tampons for the butt hurt all the 43 haters are feeling!?!
Those of us not living by you in Chicago are quite comforted and comfortable with our 43's for EDC. Not all of us find it necessary to leave the house with 2 or 3 guns, 4 knives, 2 lights, pepper spray and a stun gun.
But if that's what it takes for you to be comfortable running down to the corner store for that box of tampons.......we'll have at it. Merica!!
I do own a Shield in 9mm and think its a great gun. I've never even considered it as a primary though. A G26 with a G19 mag as a reload is as small as I will go. All I am saying is many people somehow managed to "comfortable" carry a Glock for many years before this "miracle gun" hit the market about five years too late.
i will concede that the 43 is more "comfortable" to carry than the 26 or 19. I cannot concede that its easier to conceal. With the proper holster belt combo one can conceal a full size 1911 or G17/22 with relative ease.
I for one will not give up the extra rounds in a G26/27 or 19/23 to get the comfort of a 43. Having said that I packed my G36 today and was somewhat satisfied, But quickly switched back to my G23.

Exactly, any gun is concealable but the comfort doing so is what changes gun to gun. What works for you may not work for others.
Other than pocket carry, I prefer my 43 with the PG+1 for a 3-finger grip but I like my 26 with the flush mag. For every day carry I'll sacrifice the 3 rounds for the comfort of carrying the 43 and a Taran+3 backup mag. When I want more like when I'm hiking I'll take the 19 with 17rd backup mag.

That is always my wonder about some of these mods. The grip is always the hardest part for me to conceal if IWB which I assume most going for a subcompact are. Why make the grip even longer?
Before anyone jumps my case I do agree the 43 is noticeably slimmer. I could even see carrying the 43 with a standard magazine and having whatever doo dad on your spares. Not carrying it that way though. Maybe I misunderstand this thread.
Your 100 % correct adding length to a grip that is intended for a flat mag plate (G26/27) defeats the whole purpose of a sub compact gun.
The ability to reload a higher cap magazine (g19 or 17 in a G26) is whats appealing to me. Although defensive shootings hardly EVER support having to make a reload in a gun fight. Recent events in Orlando may prove other wise. BUT it sure is a comfortable feeling having 10 rounds of Federal HST 165 grain in My 27 backed up by another 15 rounds of the same stuff.
but thats me
I have the 27, 19 and 43. Always carried 27 in .357. Tried 19. Ok but not as comfortable. Tried the 43 for business casual dress. Perfect. Like different clothing styles, the venue and attire influence the firearm for me.
1) not that much, and still gives you 2 extra rounds
2) M&P shield trigger is much better than the G43. (But glocks in general have better triggers than M&Ps just not the G43)
3) Glad you agree
4) I am talking 9mm ONLY
5) Glad you agree
And this is from a die hard Glock fan Boy. My Gen 4 G23 and Gen 3 G27 are my most carried guns.
1. The 43 is 4.25" tall and the Shield is 4.6" tall, both with the flush mags. That's why they're 1 round different
2. The 43s being shipped with the new connected have a excellent trigger. The Shield still has some mushiness from from its larger brothers.
4. The 9mm Shield has less recoil than the 43 because it is built for the .40 too. It has a larger slide and frame which help with recoil management. It's why the Shield, XDS, and PPS all weigh more than the LC9s, CM9, and 43.
1) still gives you one extra round with flush mad and 2 extra with extended The G43 does not even offer a extend mag, Unless of course you but an extended base plate (Taran Pierce) but you risk reliability.
2) I have the new connector in my 43, My shield still has a better trigger Only slightly but better
3) 4.25" v 4.6" really not a big difference
4) Weight ??? again negligible
5) We can do this all dam day, Both great guns I like My Shield 9mm better than My G43. BUT carry my G23 just about 24/7

Agreed. I'm bigger and have 2 Glock 19's, but carry the 43.
