6+1 .45 ACP trumps 6+1 9mm Euro, and Thin is a win for CC/IWB.

...but haters gotta hate.

Thin, Light Weight, Compact, Reliable, .45 ACP - GLOCK G36.

Yes, it's a GLOCK.

Have Two, Had Three, shoot Five regularly - Zero (0.0) operational malfunctions of Any Kind after Thousands of rounds.

They are GLOCKs.

And, being a light weight, compact .45 ACP, are even more prone to malfunction due to Shooter Incompetence.

Yes, 6+1 - just like the beloved li'i G43 GLOCK.

Practice Tactical Reloading until you can do it in your sleep, at 03:00, in your Chuck Norris jammmies,

...and always carry a spare mag.

I have one of each, a 30 and a 36. I like my 9mm G 19 best...if I could only have one it would always be the 19.

... since they don't make a flush fit magazine or wont extend the grip to enclose the magazine. the stock magazine base is ungainly and loos out of place.
I was looking at my 36 last night and have to say that's my only real dislike, too. Next to my 19, the flat mag-base vs. that piece sticking off the rear of the 36 makes it look funny - unfinished. My 30 was worse. Those big, blocky 10 rd mags look REALLY clumsy and funky sticking outta that fat grip. Yes, I'm shallow and looks count for a lot, but I much prefer my G19's look to the odd, unfinished even broken look of the 36/30 grip. A flush grip might even give a 7th round capacity in the 36, who knows. 7+1 would be cool.

The odds of getting into an SD situation, drawing your firearm, discharging your firearm to stop the threat, and firing more that Six(6) rounds to do it...?

...are only Forty percent (40%) greater than ending up a Highway Fatality that same year.

So, wear your seat-belt, go to the range, and carry a spare G36 mag.

6+1+6 .45 ACP - Smooth, Thin, Light weight, Comfortable... GLOCK.

I have been using my G36 since 8/2005 as my CCW. I keep it loaded with 6+1 230 gr Hydra Shok JHP.
My house gun is a 2nd generation G17 with 19+1 124 gr Golden Sabre JHP with a grip activated Laser Max. A Glock version Kel Tec Sub 2000 rides in the car trunk with a 33 round magazine with 147 grain Speer lawman FMJ rounds..

Oh boy, another Glock 36 thread. I love mine. It's almost the only pistol I shoot. Shot on Wednesday, shot yesterday, going shooting today. Yup, I've got a problem. It's the pistol I use in USPSA. The wife and I have a big shoot coming up at the end of August called Crazy Croc. An all day event, 400+ rounds 96 shooters, eight stages, and a bbq in the middle. I can't wait. I'm going to need to figure out how to carry 12 mags, I got 11 figured out. Now I need to figure out how to get one more on me, and stay secure when I run.

I wouldn't want to carry only 6+1 of anything. More bullets = better.

I agree wholeheartedly.... Read years ago, believe within 10 -12 years ago that on average the shots exchanged in a SD Scenario number 1 to 5 and with more 2 to 3 shots reported as the norm, and within 7yds.

The odds that any of us CCW's will ever be involved in a shooting are slim. The odds that one will need more than 6 rounds are even more slim. Yet, I feel more comfortable with 10 rounds in my G26 magazine and 10 in spare G26 magazine. Even more comforting to have 15 in my G19 mag (when I carry my G19) with a spare mag, but not as comfortable to carry as the G26.

This is why I have insurance policies. Like they say, hope I never have to use it; but, if I have too I hope I have enough.

Analysis of Five Years of Armed Encounters(482) (With Data Tables)

Overall, shots were fired by the defender in 72% of incidents. The average and median number of shots fired was 2. When more than 2 shots were fired, it generally appeared that the defender’s initial response was to fire until empty. It appears that revolver shooters are more likely to empty their guns than autoloader shooters...

Reloading was required in only 3 incidents. One of those involved killing an escaped lion with a .32 caliber revolver, which was eventually successful after 13 shots...

The 43 is better in every way. The way you talk about the .45ACP (Hallow Be Thy Name), are you sure you shouldn't be on a 1911 forum?

How I feel about Nutter when he goes on about 45 stopping power

Kinda snarky, isn't it? When you consider that folks like Jeff Cooper and others had a pretty soft spot for the .45acp and preferred it over most other calibers, I'd say 'Nutter' was in good company. How many people regarded as experts today have said in one way or another that the only caliber they'll carry must start with "4"? If you don't like it, don't read his posts! You can block him but disagreement on caliber isn't really a cause for acting like that. He might think your caliber choice is foolish....

It's "hallowed be Thy Name." Means "worshipped" or "Holy" or "Saintly." Hallowe'en means "All Hallows Eve" or "All Saints eve," which is the evening before All Saints' Day, which is a Catholic holy day and which is celebrated on November 1st.

If you don't like someone's posts, just don't read 'em. Caliber choice is as hard to quantify as a person's choice of automobile. Or choice of spouse.

I have two 36 and two 30SF. For the longest I combined them to make a pair of frankenglocks, what is now called the 30S - my favorite pistol.

Lately I've taken to having one frankenglock, a 30SF, and a 36. A rediscovered love for the 36.

Enjoy!

Okay wait, bigger is better. Or smaller is better, don't know which. I'm confused.
The largest pistol, w/ the most power, and adequate capacity - that you can Shoot well, comfortably carry, and conceal.

For me, it's this:

Not a fan. I've been EDC'ing an XDs 45/3.3 with CTC laser for a long time. Yeah, I have to carry an extra mag but I do that all the time, it's no big deal. Mag, knife and car fob are very happy together in my pocket. I do carry a G27 once in a while just to make myself choose again and I have re-choosen the XDs every time so far. The G27 shoots great but I can't really carry an extra mag for it, and it doesn't conceal as well.

I had an XDs 45/4.0 and oddly enough didn't like it. I like the 40 cal G27 but would never get the XDs in 40 cal without a thorough vetting which I'm not willing to do.

you think the XD is easier to carry/conceal than the Glock 36? I carry a 27 often and carry a 13 round mag in a kytex single mag carrier with relative ease
