Take a minute and watch the police shooting video & read the "victim's" parents' comments -

Here is a video of a Jefferson Parish (New Orleans area) deputy shooting and killing a 17 year old boy in a warehouse.

The "victim" had a 9mm pistol with obliterated serial number and a high capacity magazine but apparently, Thank God, not all that reliable.

But for the video there would have been some questions if the deputy really had to shoot a breaking and entry 17 year old who had allegedly stolen some truck rims.

Atleast she had the sense not to blame the police, as for the number of shots fired seems reasonable to me. Twice that many would be ok with me.

Strong work deputy, strong work.
I agree.

I think what you have with the round count comment is she is clearly hurting, doesn't have a general understanding, nor does she really care what goes on in SD shootings. She understands that the deputies did what they had to do... but at the same time didn't want her son to suffer. She is equating(rightfully or not) getting shot multiple times to more suffering.

Knowing someone who lost 2 kids due to entirely preventable situations, I really feel for her. The kid got what he asked for, the mom didn't.

Society really needs to take a lesson from the mom.

I don't get your last paragraph before the link..

It's 7am- do you know where your teenager is???

Given her appropriate and respectable response to the matter, I would be willing to donate to a gofundme for the burial?

Call me crazy, but she lost a child and put the responsibility where it belonged- unlike most.

She created that child little monster who would, but for dumb luck and lack of skill, have been a cop killer. That little SOB didn't do it alone, her lack of mothering, acceptance at his inevitable end or not, was most likely the key factor in him and his dead ass brother being duds. I wouldn't let her borrow a broken shovel to dig his hole, nor scrap wood to build a box for him. If you want to start a go-fund me to sterilize her, we can talk...

*Good shoot!....when I was a kid...none of my friends or myself were robbing or pointing Guns at police...and I would bet...most of the member's here would feel the same...

Something different with this kid and his Family...occurred.

I'm torn... the Mom owned up to the fact her sons were no angels and yet I wanna bash her because she allowed their behavior, which led to each sons death..alot of that blame rests with her. I believe raising a good kid is 50% good parents/ environment and 48% is some kids are just good(2%luck). As a decent parent, she KNEW what each was up to yet did nothing to stop it. I wonder if she realizes ultimately she was the cause of each boys death? Again I commend her for not being the norm parent and blaming everyone else, but how with one track record of a dead kid do you stand by and watch the other child go down the same path? I guess her and I have different parenting techniques.

My condolences to the mother, she lost a son. I’m not sorry for the son though.

You cannot have 11 children and be a good parent to any of them, even if you are financially well of.

Great shoot.

I dont understand the media narrative surrounding shots fired. Or saying to shoot people in the arms or knees while engaging in a gunfight...the audacity of people.

End of the day sucks she lost her son but as they say 'play stupid games win stupid (painful) prizes'

I don't consider a seventeen year old to be a boy. One year from majority, young man at least.

Great tactics by the deputy moving and engaging the threat. Prayers for the deputy. Sorry for the mother but it is what it is.

Should be manageable with help from the father. Even more so with 5-6 fathers to share parental responsibilities... :whistling:.
