I'm going to be carrying my G26 more than actually shooting it for awhile. What interval do I need to break it down and oil it? Thx.

If I shoot it, I clean it when I get home. If I don't shoot it, I keep it lubed as per the Glock instructions and check it once in a while to see that it's still lubed or before I take it to the range. This applies to all my firearms.

It should be fine indefinitely if not exposed to too much crud. A holster that excludes lint, and carrying the gun under your shirt should keep it pretty clean. I've gone over a year without doing anything to mine. It always runs fine when I do shoot it, and never shows any problems when I check/clean it after carry without shooting.

+1 just keep in mind after loooong periods oil can evaporate so replace as needed. Some have said Glocks'll actually run dry - just don't run it too long....

I'd say that depends on the climate more than anything. In Arizona its not likely to rust, but it gets dusty, a lot of dust in a desert. Miami your dealing with humidity. Up north you have different issues. You have a computer with some kind of calendar, set an alert that says lube Glock. Time tends to get away from me since I retired.

I clean my carry guns after shooting them, and lube with a light synthetic grease. It doesn't migrate, sling off, or go away. It's always lubricated. I carry in a IWB holster, the gun stays clean.

I'm with John Biltz, climate dictates my carry cleaning. I train retrievers for a living, working outside in south Ms is tough, about every 3 or 4 days a quick wipe down and a little oil on slide. Springs and barrel maybe 10 days or so.

I believe the manual suggests once a month and anytime after shooting and as necessary which I suspect means if you go swimming with it or something like that. I would think that if you field stripped and lubricated it once a month after several months you might begin to get an idea of how quickly or slowly it collects dust, lint, etc.

Once a month for guns that haven't been fired. If it looks good at one month, wait till two, and see how it is.
One of the torture tests on a Glock, was to soak it down with Gun scrubber,
a de-greaser, till every bit of lubricant was gone, then fire it as fast as possible, mag after mag till it was too hot to hold, then soak it in cool water till it cools, and go back to shooting. That proved that a Glock could function just fine without lube.
I wouldn't do that to mine, but in case I was to forget one in the safe, and it went for four months without lube I wouldn't worry.

We've had heat index of 105 or better last week or so - lots of sweating and humidity. My N82 holster has been drenched after a day of that - been making sure to wipe my gun off each night and apply a little oil to the slide. I do a press check every once in a while to check lube on the barrel, most of my glocks go more than a month without being shot and the lube is still there

My 26 is my EDC pistol. After shooting, I oil it down in the right places, lightly, as not to attract dust. If I haven't sweat or got it wet, I won't check it for a month. At least once a month it is cleared, function tested, and cleaned if necessary. I leave a light coat of oil in the barrel.

I clean mine after every range trip (and all other Glocks). Every 2 years or so I'll completely disassemble them, frames, slides, etc and thoroughly clean them although I know I prob don't really "need to."

I cleaned and polished all the parts of my pistol when I got it a few years ago.

After using traditional oils for lube, I realized that the grease the factory uses is the right technique.

I tried marine moly grease for wheel bearings and found that just the slightest film works great.

It would still dry out a bit so now I'm using a moly paste called TS-70.

I clean it annually.
