Hey guys, if you had a choice, which would you prefer…a Glock in full gray or 2 tone with the frame in gray and the slide in black. Thanks for your opinions.
The all grey looks funny imo I found a used one at a pawn shop didn't like the look. 2 tone looks way better. What's the difference between the newer slide finish and the frying pan finish as afar as durability? I had a new 43 with the smooth finish and it quickly got slide wear from an own serpa holster. The gen 4 19 I have now has a more grainy texture to it.
I LOVE the factory grey lowers on glocks. I think I'd love to have one. probably not with 2 tone tho - grey is more subtle, whereas the FDE or BG sticks out and pops more. I think with grey I woud want the full boat - top and bottom.
^^^^I looked all over the place for a grey framed G41 MOS. I could not locate one. So, I bought "just" the grey frame fro 20/21/40/41 to build me one. I got it in it's original case.
The damest thing is that the frame came off the VERY pistol I was looking for: G41 MOS GF (grey frame). Red label on case told the story and the serial numbers on case sticker and frame match.
Yes vickers grey is actual grey polymer. Have any of you guys noticed the horrible trigger feel on the cerakoted glocks? Ive had two a burnt bronze, and the silver/grey and both triggers are horrendous. If you're thinking of getting one of the full cerakote ones take this into consideration
I have several of the Lypsies Grey frames. If you have that, all you need do is change sights and add the mag plates basically. The difference is the grip. They do have a earlier grip style which is not sold any longer otherwise.
So, it would come down if you want that grip or not. Otherwise, add the parts to your Lypsy Grey frame with the gen 4 grip and have the grey backstraps as well.
It's often like listening to a bunch of school girls at the mall cooing over the latest color and finish, how this magazine carrier accessorizes that frame finish, and oooh, look at the way that slide stands out.
A "boring" handgun is one that fires every time the trigger is pressed, and that's a pretty darn useful trait to have.

Are you angry because you can't afford upgrades or to cerakote a glock? Somebody else's gun is not yours quit worrying about what other people do. That's what high school girls do not men. And glock are not perfect out of the box maybe for you but not for everyone.
I'm not angry at all. Afford upgrades? Depends what you call an upgrade. I've probably got more Glocks than most posters here, and with a few exceptions, probably more firearms than most posters here. If you call making your handgun look pretty, or worrying about accessorizing it with this color or that an "upgrade," then knock yourself out.
Upgrading it with trigger, mag release, and functional improvements are another matter. Far too many posters seem to place asthetics as their highest priority, and who needs to function test a weapon when it "feels good" in their hand?
You go right ahead and pretty up your pistol and show it off. Nobody's going to stop you.
Geez. Do all you guys drive plain non-metallic black cars, wear plain white t-shirts with white sneakers, and sport the same haircut since grade school? Handguns cost anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars... they are a not insignificant purchase for most people. If they want something that is unique, different, fancy, or nice to look at, have at it, IMO.
I bought a grey frame 23 back in January and love it. If they would've had the all grey version I probably would have gotten that. If they didn't have either I'd have an all black 23.
I actually like them both a lot. I have a gray RTF2 G19 frame and am waiting for the naked gunsmith ready slides to get back in stock. The plan is to have fish gill cocking certations CNC machined into the slide and then ION Bonded gray to match the frame.
This seems simple enough but is proving to be a PITA to get this done. Oh well, it will look great some day.
I just bought my second g19 and it is a grey frame with a nickel boron slide. Trying to find information on it, but I'm not good at this. I just couldn't pass on it when I saw it.
I like the two tone for the simple fact that it will be a frame molded in plastic so not coated, mated with a factory coated slide rather than a cerakoted slide.
I had the same decision to make and I went with factory grey frame and black slide. I'm happy!
