Is there any reason an Apex Glock trigger won't work on the Gen 4 trigger bar? Apex says use Gen 3 trigger bar and they sell the trigger attached to the Gen 3 trigger bar. I can't see any reason it wouldn't work on a Gen 4 bar. What am I missing?

For the OP, here's the contact page and at the time I'm typing this, Apex should open in ~18 hours from now. They've been pretty good about getting back to folks by email or reaching them by phone. If you want a Technical Support contact, Ms. Juana Chavez at Apex has been excellent in communicating. I hope she's still there.
It's a good question. While I can speculate, I don't know either and would like you to post what they say once you contact them.

"The Gen 3 trigger bar will work in a Gen 4 Glock, however Glock factory guideline recommend (sic) using Gen 4 in a Gen 4. You can put the trigger body on your own Gen 4 trigger bar but you will find that the dimple in the Gen 4 trigger bar creates more drag and probably won’t deliver the kind of trigger improvement you’re hoping for."
That written in red seems to answer it all.
The Apex line is that the alignment bump or dimple on the Gen4 trigger bar's firing pin safety arm will cause enough drag to counter any benefit that this $80 super trigger might otherwise give. Hmmm...one just might be inclined to think that the benefit can't be very large if it all will be sabotaged by that evil dimple...El Hoyuelo del Diablo!
It's also odd that the Apex site doesn't explicitly state which models accept their trigger with Gen3 trigger bar part 102-110...only that it must be Gen3. But, what about Gen3 10mm and .45ACP models, which use a dimensionally different trigger bar...one that also has that dimple (Gen3 and Gen4 trigger bars for those calibers are the same Glock part).
I'm more interested in the comfort of the aluminum trigger than any pull weight benefit. I may try it both ways if it's not to big a pain to remove the pin from the Apex trigger body once it's on the trigger bar. I have a Gen 3 smooth trigger in my G26 Gen 4 right now so it's not a big deal either way I guess.
I have tried Gen3 trigger with trigger bars in Gen4 pistols (configured for left-side magazine catch) and measured trigger pull before and after the change.
I have tried Gen4 trigger with trigger bars in pre-Gen4 pistols and measured trigger pull before and after the change.
I found the pull weight differences in any specific pistol very small to non-existent. I use a Gen4 TwTB in my EDC Gen2.5 G33, after finding the pull weight and "feel" to be identical to the Gen3 TwTB that I had been using.
I conclude that there have been many very questionable assertions made since 2010 about the adverse effects of the Gen4 TwTB.
I have an Apex trigger that I put on the stock gen3 trigger bar. I greatly prefer the feel of it against my finger -- which is why I bought it, but I'm not sure if it made any other difference in the pull itself (nor did I really expect it to).

Me, too. I'm happy enough with it to keep it setup this way.
