I've been shooting its cousin, the .260 Remington, for years. Ballistically they're damn near identical. Great whitetail round, farthest I've taken one with it is almost 500 yards. Don't doubt that it would do the job just fine even farther out.

Personally at 200 yards would go with .308 myself, but that is just me.

The 6.5 really shines out past 500 yards compared with .308, downside is it seems to be hard on the hardware. Ruger states their barrels for the Precision Rifle in .308 are good for 40k rounds, but only something like 6k for 6.5 Creedmore.

I don't own one, and have only shot 2, less recoil than I was expecting and reminds me a lot of my 7mm Mauser.

I already have a 25-06, 243 & 280 Rem so it not like i really NEED the creedmoor to hunt with, just got the itch for a new bolt gun and the 6.5 seems like a good choice something little bit different than what I have already

may be need a new bolt gun to celebrate a Trump victory ???

That is a great idea and I have considered that too and I do not have a long range heavy type gun

Mmmmm choices, choices, told myself I wold buy it to celebrate a Trump victory in Nov!
Wioukd be fun shooting at hogs long range down in the Pecos River canyon !

What type of long range gun wild you suggest, I have heard a lot of good things about the Savage 12 long range gun

The savage 12 would probably be fine. Or one of remingtons target models
If that wont do, Kelbly's located here in ohio builds benchrest and longrange target guns for competitors the world over. Www.kelbly.com
Would love to have a custom build but prob can't afford one
Does Remington make one in 6.5 ?

Sorry my bad on the remington. They may not have a 6.5 creedmore offering available.
You would need to pick up one of ther used target models and have a local smith rebarrel it
The remington is a very stable long range platform.
I do believe ruger has a 6.5 chambering also

I have one in a semi it's very flat shooting accurate and Light recoiling has a bit of a snap to it it reminds me of a 243 i shot in the past

Would you hire an educated ******* from Texas LOL ?? Those Vanguards are one heck of a value in a bolt gun that's for sure !
Possibly in the near future  we went and worked in Texas for two weeks in January. Right now we do a job every once in awhile but I hope that changes soon as I want to move there :2gun:

I recently bought one and went with the new Savage 10BA Stealth but it's more of a target rifle than hunting. I'm still waiting for my local guy to get hold of the scope I want so I haven't had a chance to get acquainted with it yet. And that is a real test of my patience.

The Ruger Precision Rifle is a hell of a value and is available in 6.5 CM.
My dad bought himself one of those, and he reloads for it. He studies all that ballistics stuff before he buys something, and he's had good things to say about the rifle too. I'll have to go out with him sometime and try it out.
