I have not used this powder myself but I do have the "Hodgdon 2014 Annual Manual - RELOADING" which has a 6 page article packed with info & range data. In the manual the only data listed for 9mm, 147g using CFE powder is this;
Bullet: 147g Hornady XTP DIA: .355" (and they list a) OAL: 1.100"
CFE powder (starting) - 3.7g (velocity) - 864 (pressure) - 26,000 psi
(maximum) - 4.2g (velocity) - 963 (pressure) - 33,000 psi

If you have no data or information about this powder, pick up a copy on line, I feel it will help "fill in the blanks" for you.

I hope this helps.

My limited experience with it has been good. It seems to give my nearly identical velocity and accuracy as Unique for the same charge, with my gun and projectiles anyway. Meters much better too. I'm happy to have what appears to be a good substitute since Unique can be hard to find sometimes.

I load extreme 147s with 3.8gr of CFE pistol at an oal of 1.145. I average 850 fps from a g17, 984 fps from a cz scorpion, and 910 fps from a Z5P. Hope that helps, I primarily shoot them through the scorpion and Z5P with a silencer but it still cycles the g17 fine.

I haven't used CFE yet, but I have bought a few pounds of it. Over the last few years I have been picking up primers and powders periodically here and there. I have some Autocomp as well.

If anyone has some good 45 Auto recipes with either powder, I am interested in hearing about them.

I've been using Win 231 and Alliant Power Pistol for my 45 loadings. I really like Power Pistol!

Here are a couple of my favorite .45 ACP loads, using those 2 powders - I tested out of my G21;

Bullet - Remington 230g FMJ RN
Powder - Winchester 231 @ 5.6g
Powder range - 5.2g - 5.8g (Lyman 49th edition)
OAL - 1.260"
Velocity - 815 fps

Bullet - Hornady 230g XTP
Powder - Alliant Power Pistol @ 6.9g
Powder range - 5.5g - 7.1g (Hornady Reloading Manual 9th edition)
OAL - 1.230"
Velocity - 844.8 fps[/QUOTE]
