Greetings
I just spent the last 45 min trying on different guns. everything from my Shield 9mm G43 G27 G23 G19 My Sig 320 compact and Subcompact. Tried to see what gun felt better Concealed better and what was best for me. In the end My G23 won hands down. I tried all my EDC holsters form the Blade Tech Nano to the alpha concealment to the Mitch Rosen All IWB holsters.
The single stacks 9 were weeded out quickly mostly because of magazine capacity, Although My Shield 9mm is far better than My G43. But the 23 just seemed to fit me best, For me its the perfect balance between Power, Capacity size and concealment.

Do you shoot the 23 the best as well?

Yes, I shoot my G23 as accurately as my 19. Maybe, just maybe a tad bit slower, But definitely as accurate. Still I'd rather have the 2 less rounds in my 23 to get the performance of the 40. But that's just my opinion

Congrats on the G-23, I have a gen2 G-23 and have had it since new.
Up until recently it was my main carry Pistol.
I picked up a G-19 about 6 months ago, it is a gen3, and not as comfortable to shoot as the G-23. I don't get along with the finger grooves on the G-19, they force my Social finger up against the trigger guard, and it hurts to shoot.
Because of that I shoot the G-23 better than the G-19. The 40 is a snappier round than the 9mm but due to ergonomics, I shoot the G-23 better.
I have a G-17L that I shoot best, but that is not a fair comparison.
I carry the G-19 just as much as the G-23, depending on where and when.
The G-23 has factory night sights, and the 19 doesn't.
I picked up a set of Tru-Glo TFO night sites, for the G-19, and will get them on soon. I am looking at a set of Falcon wrap around grips, that will decrease the depth of the finger grooves, with a set of Pachmeyers over that, should stop the pain to my finger.
I just don't want to file the Finger Bumps off. I have long fingers, so the added length will not be a problem.
I have tried to find a gen 2 frame for G-19, or G-23 or a whole pistol with no luck. I will keep looking.

Remember you can convert your Glock 23 to 9mm just by changing out the barrel and using 9mm mags. I have a very old 23 and got a storm lake 9mm conversion barrel, had a few 9mm mags and it shoots outstandingly well.

Take a dremel tool the finger grooves of the 19. I have the same problem with my 26/27. I think there are several you tubes videos on this.
Also under cutting the trigger guard will give you some room between your social finger and the bottom of the trigger guard.
My 19 is a Gen 3 also and very comfortable to shoot, I just rather have the 40 as a defensive gun

The GLOCK G23.4/ .40/ 180 gr., w/ the capacity to mount the 5.3" LWD Bbl. / 357SIG/ 147 gr., is the Cat's vag***!

It is the pistol from which All Other choices propagate.

i agree 100% however I favor the 165 grain SXT or HST. Its the perfect balance between power size and capacity. In My opinion of course.

Consecutive serial numbers thats pretty HOOAH. I do like my 19 laser accurate and super soft shooter

I like the OD G-19 also. My G-19 is all black. I do have a gen 2 G-17 frame that I use with my Advantage Arms 22 cal conversion. I have been thinking about spray painting it either OD, or Tan. It is the 2 pin 9mm frame, but right now it is a dedicated 22 cal.
I don't want to grind off the finger Bumps from the G-19, afraid if I did, I would find a gen 2 frame, and then have trouble selling it.

I agree that the G-19/23 frames are great for carry, Just right for me.
I have been carrying the G-23 for years, it is a gen 2. and the G-19 is a gen 3
The mid-size frame, 19/23 gen 3 just does not work with my size hands.
It pushes the fingers up into the trigger guard, and hurts my social finger when firing.
I don't want to grind off the bumps, or the trigger guard.
The Pachmeyer slip on grip helps a lot,

I also have the 23 gen 4 an love it ! Great gun ! I Carrie the 23 Sometimes but for some reason , the 36 gen 3 is what I find on my hip most ! They are almost the exact same size but the 36 has a slimer frame being a single stack 45 acp , although you lose some capacity you gain more confort an you also have the stopping power of the big .45 round ! Good luck with new gun I know you will enjoy it as I do !! Btw .. My 23 also shoots 9mm perfectly havent had any issues with the new recoil spring (as some have ) !
