I'm considering reloading for my AR and wanted to know from the experienced reloaders on this site if, based on the price of ammo these days, whether it is practical? I was also hoping for suggestions on which dies are best for this rifle caliber?

Thanks,
Steve

I own two Dillon tools - one is a case separator (which I use at the school) and the bench mounted swager. Great tool but now can see how to increase it's output without much effort and expense.

I can look up how much that bad boy costs from Hornady, but my question is whether the expense has been worth it. How much do you use it for to justify it? It looks great but not sure I'd use it enough.

If you are buying separate tools to do case prep, the cost of the Hornady is less daunting, but honestly, i would not have bought one but i got a great price on it. It is a nice unit though if you have to prep a lot of brass.

The next 223 case trimming upgrade for me will be the Dillon press mounted electric trimmer/sizer. Then some day the Super 1050 for the swaging station.

I'm set-up with loading bulk .223 and most of my .308 with my 1050, RT1200 trimmer and Hornady case prep assistant (the cheapo single one). I know what my next purchase will be as well though.

All the PRS guys in my area most of who load 200-300 6.5 Creedmore a week are raving about the Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Case Prep and Trim Center. They say it has all the functionally of the Hornady at half the price. I like that the trimming station indexes off the case shoulder of the cases, without the use of shell holders. Like a poor man Giraud.

I've never heard of this machine. I checked out a video and was impressed!

Thanks,
Steve
