I have a new g19 and I'm getting hit in the face with hot brass and very irattic ejections
It's a new G19 gen 3
Any answers on how to fix this?

Will a SPO1176 non LCI extractor loaded bearing work in a gun wit a LCI extractor?
Apex tactical shows on their web site to use a non LCI loaded bearing with their extractor.
My concern is will the longer non LCI bearing work with a Glock OE LCI extractor?
I have a USA made G17 that I just purchased that came new with the longer non LCI bearing from Glock and it shoots great!
Any one else seen this?

Do other Gun manufacture's have the same BTF problem like Glocks do? If not then why doesn't glock fix the problem once and for all? The better question is why does the consumer keep putting up with it? I mean Glock claims it is Perfection... But BTF doesn't sound like Perfection to me. Cmon Glock get off your ass and live up to your reputation.

Now they live off reputation to provide the kool aid drinkers with a lower quality product.

Hard to think this many years have gone by and people are still having the g19 btf problems.

Maybe Gaston needs more $ for his litigation or new wife.

All gun manufactors have some type of problem now and then, I love my Glocks I have at least 10
G 17 USA made, 2 G19s, 2 G20s, 2 G22s, 2 G23s, G32 and a G40 MOS I've only had 1 bad G19 and Glock replaced it for free after 2 repairs for BTF. I had 1 GEN 2 G20 that they updated for free all internal parts plus a new frame
Great service from Glock and their guns!

I would tend to agree that it seems like Glock is trying to cut some corners since 2010 or so. The MIM extractors, the less durable finish, the early Gen 4 issues, other small things that could lead one to believe that not enough f**ks are given somewhere high up in the Glock corporate ladder.
That doesn't make me anti-Glock, but it sure makes me hesitate a bit before spending my hard-to-come by $. That said, most manufacturers nowadays seem to be heading in the "less product for the same price point" direction. In other words, a classic, once highly regarded product that used to be built/held to a higher standard is suddenly not all that great anymore. S&W and Ruger revolvers are lesser than they once were, the Glock is lesser, the Beretta 92, Colt 1911, etc, etc, etc.

Found today that Lonewolf Distributors has an LCI non dip extractor for all Glocks, 9 MM, 357 SIG, 40SW, 10 MM, and 45ACP
it's not MIM very well finished
They have good reviews.
Purchased 1 today for my old G19 that has real bad BTF.
it looks better finished than the Glock OE and is smooth not rough like the Glock ones.
I got a 100% relief from BTF so far on this 3 year old problem gun
Hope this is a true fix for all Glocks with poor ejection?

With LCI MIM dipped extractors?
What effect did the increased pressure of the longer bearing provide.
Thanks
good to know if the Lonewolf extractors don't work out
I may give them a try

I have a fairly new G19 gen 4, with roughly 2000 rounds through it. Over time, the gun's BTF issue has significantly lessened, to the point that it isn't worth fretting over. I've used various ammunition brands; Lawman 124gr and 115 gr, S&B 115gr, and other quality loads. I'm of the opinion that, at least in my case, proper grip and familiarity with the 19, along with (perhaps) wear on the RSA, are responsible for the reduction in erratic ejection patterns.

I just returned from shooting 200 rounds. Of those, I had two "flyers" that ejected up and over my head. In these cases my grip wasn't ideal so I attribute the pattern to that.

My point is that sometimes the gun needs to be run, and proper grip is important with the 19. It seems to be sensitive to those things.

HTH.

Tried a new non LCI Spring loaded bearing #1176 and a Lonewolf extractor in my problem Glock 19 and I got real good results with strong constant 4:00 ejection so far no BTF today
The Lonewolf extractor is a lot smoother and a better fit than the Glock OE MIM dipped extractor

Looks like the lw1895 extractor which is a non dip one by Lonewolf may be a winner with a longer non LCI Spring loaded bearing
Shot my problem G19 again today and it ran fine
Put the OE dipped extractor back in and I got BTF so out it came!
Funny that my new G19 that I got last week runs fine and this 3 year old gun won't even with the parts from the new gun?
Parts from old gun run fine in the new gun
What's going on here? Seams yo defiantly be a slide/barrel problem
Not a frame issue

I still don't understand why they use a short SLB on the LCI slides
And a longer SLB on the non LCI slides
Any one have an idea on this? The both use the same spring and rod!

I had BTF on my newest Glock pistol (Glock 34 gen 3) and I just changed to a different ammo brand and all was good. Damn gun is like a laser. I'm just so fortunate all my Glock pistols over the years worked as designed without any drama. Good luck to the OP.

Just my personal experience with a 17: It eats lots of different kinds of ammo, but digests them a bit differently. When I was shooting the relatively hot S&B loads, ejection was vigorous and consistent, just what you'd expect and want. Some weaker range ammo types... you start to see it weakly toss the cases backwards.

My feeling is that it's a combination of ammo power and hold. A really firm grip will help with ejecting weaker ammo, or spicier ammo will make up for a somewhat less firm grip.

Got a new G17 today and went to the range and shot it
A ok
So I took the back slide plate off and got a surprise!
It had a long Spring loaded bearing in it from Glock
It was a brand new gun!
So what's up with Glock, it supposed to have the short SLB according to the parts spec sheet!
But it shoots great, I wonder if that is the new fix for Gen 3 BTF on
G17S and 19s

There are at least 5 threads this month covering this very subject. Do a search for my name and you should be able to quickly find tons of good information from others as well as myself. In short, the fix is not the same for everyone. What fixed it for me in my 2013 Gen3 19 (the only one of the 18 Glocks I have owned or own that has the problem) was a 30274 ejector from a Gen4 19. In the threads mentioned are a few steps to take that will help you pinpoint the location of the issue before you start changing parts.

When I first bought my G34 last year I was impressed with the ejection.....Every piece of brass ejected about 4 o'clock over my right shoulder and landed in about a 6-7 foot circle.

After about 1K rounds I now have BTF. In a 10 round shot sequence, I get 2-3 over my head, on the bill of my cap, in my shirt pocket.....

I'm using exactly the same ammo as I used when the gun was brand new.

Hope I do not get too much grief for this, but just doing a detail cleaning of my 41 extractor after 4 or 5 hundred rounds got things back to normal. I was taking it apart to look at the wear patterns on my extractor to see if it needed the polishing fix, but a deep clean resulted in it being good, again.

I have a USA built G17 that shoots and ejects great so I was going to remove the extractor from it and try it in my 3 year old problem G19 and I noticed that the G 17 had a long SLB in it where the G 19 had a short SLB so I switch them from the G17 to the G19 and it help the ejection
I get a more uniform ejection in the G19
any thoughts on this and why the new G17 USA built would have a long SLB from the factory?
