U.S. ARMY 1970-1992, SFC (ret)
Grunt, grunt, grunt, Drill Sergeant, grunt, grunt.
11 series soldier, any thing with a 11 in front of it.
Been around the world 3 times and can't remember crap!
Basic was Fort Dix.
Duty Station was Fort Hood.
Jimmy The C visited the base one Saturday. I swear we did more to make our vehicles Look Good before he showed up than all the previous months combined. I'm very glad I didn't have duty that weekend.
Volunteered for Paratrooper Duty one day.
I was on CQ Duty when The Word about Only Special Forces and Rangers were permitted to wear Berets. No more Red Berets for the Merely Airborne. (Hence my Avatar.)
Left January 1979 For Fort Benning and Jump School. Wound up in Vicenza and the 1/509 ABTF instead of Fort Bragg.

I'm a pew professional. Rofl. Nah we just did lots of ammo dumps when we got shot at. But oefX + XI RCEAST
I was the RTO to go to in my company without rockers and in my unit, sergeant major ma**i name which doesn't need more letters than those, he would joke with me from time to time when we stopped over at the FOB (**** that place) about taking me from my platoon. But I would make it to the last month of the deployment before getting my ass handed to me and needing medevac. we were COP infantry. A different breed of *******s. Oh and I carried a SAW for quite a while. But my place was smashed up the ass of the PL. at least our pl was the most respected that was still living in our midst.
I also don't leave the house much anymore. I have a one and a half year old I take care of. Getting the disability doesn't make the pain go away. And they won't cut me open because it's not severe enough of a nerve impingement to warrant the laser thru the va. And I have more memories of good times than bad times. But I can't seem to wanna put my ass in gear no more. I only spent 5 years active. What the hell did they do to me?

THAT'S the $10,000 question! Use us up and spit us out. Take the best years of our lives, then throw us out with dish water. But we'd do it again in a hearbeat. For God, our Buddies, and love of Country. Hang in there Amigo!
