Idea to protect the newbs

I think it would be helpful to give the newbs an hour of safety to get acquainted with the game, attack some people, etc.

Also, an instructional page would be quite helpful. I wasted my first 15 attacks attacking with like 6 at a time (is there an advantage to attacking with more than one attack point?)

I think there is. I found that if you spy on the person before attacking, and see they have alot of cash, using 2 attack points will increase the amount of loot as opposed to multiple single point attacks.

Maybe. I fought blindly, attacking others and won all but one attack. I built up my weapons and my armor with the gold I won. But I had never played something like this before. THEN I did a search and found this:

Source

Quote:
Each member begins their adventure by choosing a Race which had certain advantages over other races. They begin with a few soldiers and a bit of gold, and must build their army by fighting other players.

Players can buy weapons for their soldiers to increase their attack strength, and buy armor to increase their soldier's defense strength. However, each soldier can only use one weapon and one item of armor. Players can also upgrade their Defense and Offense to increase their defensive and offensive strengths by a percentage.

Players can browse through a list of participating players. They can conduct intelligence operations by sending Spies, which cost a set amount of gold to purchase. The more spies you send, the more accurate the intelligence you gather will be. Gathered intelligence gives you an estimate of the players total gold, offensive power, and defensive power.

If you choose to attack a player you must use "Turns." You only get a certain amount of turns every 24 hours. The more turns you use, the more gold you will steal from your opponent. Be warned though, your opponent will know that you attacked them by viewing their Defense Log.

Naturally it is important to grow your army. The only way to get soldiers in the game is to have your friends click your "Recruitment Link" They can only click it once every 24 hours, and each time they do you will recieve one soldier.
~~~
Oh, and I REALLY, REALLY, like this new game. Thanks, Eric.
I will try to write up some instructions of how much I understand the game tonight.
Really not much to the game right now.. But yes it would help. I too wasted attacks when I first played for nothing.
I also propose that someone with zero attack can not be attacked. Generally these are people who clicked on the Army game and then never set up their account so it is easy picking for anybody who has at least one attack.
What I envision down the road is that someone will have to sign up to join. They won't simply click on a link to enter and be signed up. It will probably cost them some site currency (Casino Cash, for now) to sign up and it will cost them more cash/gold to step up to other levels of play, like organizing their own clan. Eric
An even more complicated, but more effective method of separating the newbs would be only people on similar levels could attack each other. That way the newbs could only attack each other and the more heavily armed/armored players would be forced to attack only each other.
There is a similar system with most online multiplayer games that separates low-rated characters from highly-rated ones...
a few thoughts:
you can only attack within a certain range, or alliances.
1) you can only attack within a certain strength range
2) alliances could be formed and newbs would join the alliances to get protected
EXACTLY... I thought this would be a new, fun thing to do at GT... 20 seconds when I try to buy armor and wepons, I can't. Robbed of 1000 gold.
That was a total let down, I didn't even know there were any "instructions" anywhere, and can't do a damn thing now.
Nice camaraderie fellas.
The game right now Snake is just a beta, and things will change in the future. Don't Give up just yet.. Because even the higher up players can't do anything right now because the only source of gold right now is New Players, which is a very unfortunate thing right now.
Don't worry little brother, I spent 25 turns fleecing newbs of their money. When I went to spend it someone attacked me and took all but 2K of the 20K I had gotten. Big fish eats little fish. Now I can't do anything either.
I understand. My point is that with 3 gold... 0 armor and 0 weapons... there isnt a whole lot to do.
