Yup...I love the look of the Mariner...and in the humidity / salt environment here in Florida it's a smart choice...

my dad lives in cape coral, and wants to get a shotgun, he's either gonna get the mariner, or the remington version of it.

Take your pic, the wood stock 870 20ga is my son's hunting gun. The rest I had to pull out of hiding.

What do you use for a defense load in a 20 gauge? I can't remember seeing buckshot, but then again I didn't look for it really.

#3 and #4 are buckshot for a 20ga.
I use #3.
You can over look it very easily.

Looks like the (out of production) Halo rail and about a 10" barrel. Chaos currently makes a similar rail system...

Thanks for the reply. I can get a new Saiga 12 for $450 locally so I think I'll buy it and start ordering conversion parts to include some sort of quad rail... likely the Chaos if the Halo is no more (probably for a reason).

The Chaos extended quad rail goes on sale for $99 every so often... I've never held one, but the Halo one is reputed to be really heavy. There is a saiga specific forum that might be of use to you. http://forum.saiga-12.com/

Cool, I'm registered over there now and I'll watch for that sale. I'll do more research on converting my own the way I want it.

Mossberg 500c 20ga.

Then I wanted to practice stippling, and I use the back side of the forend when I shoot skeet. So, I stippled the forend a little.
ATI topfold stock, heatshield, ghostring sights. Spent some time with a dremel and a bore laser, installing the sights. I'm good enough for minute of beer can at 30 yards with a slug. Alot of people knock em, but they aren't terrible.
