Need help with Serial & Model S&W Snub 38

Can anyone help me figure out what model and possible year for a 38 Snub nose S&W with serial # BPE127X ? Inside is also M 60-7 In beautiful shape - Thank you!

That is a model 60 in .38 spl from the late 80's or 90(without looking it up inthe book).

I have one, bought used in the late 1990s. The Book doesn't have a clear date for this specific variant. The -7 suffix means its stainless steel. Since it was one of the 60 models still made in .38 Spl, it may have been part of a batch manufactured for an export contract, in the early 90s, or even earlier.

M 60-7 is a pretty good clue that you have a Chiefs Special Stainless Model 60, change 7. SCSW says -7 is for a wider front sight introduced in 1990.

BPE prefix is November 1993 in SCSW.
