Possible move to Iowa

Just reaching out to those of you in Iowa as I may be moving for work reasons next year. I did a cursery look at the NRA ILA site for the general gun laws. Looks like the state has CCW now but a permit to purchase handguns. I am presently in Kansas and if this move happens, I will be in the Des Moines area.

Basically I am trying to get a feel for the "Culture" regarding firearms/self defense/mag capacity bans Ranges ect...

Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks

I think its gun friendly for the most part, till you want to make your gun run quite! We own some acres by DM so not sure where the ranges are, but I'm sure there are some around. DM is one of the riches cities in the country and is a joy to be in.

Thanks, I did see that supressors are not legal except something about special permits for thinning deer population. I don't have interest in them at this time but too many believe they are "dangerous". It's always possible to change laws. I can only hope.
