I used to carry only one gun. I started carrying the G-23. I carried it until I got my G-36 and then I carried it exclusively. I carried each one in 3 different way. IWB, OWB, and sholder rig.

I believe that in many ways beyond what the joke implys that variety really is the spice of life. I now carry several different hand guns in several different ways based upon the situation, weather and how I feel like rolling on any particular occasion. I switch out my Glocks and carry the two mentioned above but I also carry the big 21 in cold weather under a big coat. I also carry my Charter Arms .38 special snubby, My Ruger SP101 .357mag, my Smith & Wesson model 24-3 .44 special. and my kelTec P-32 which I carry on my ankle or in a Desantis nemisis pocket holster of even IWB.

I think that the OP's original question requires a more thoughtful answer that just one gun. For me at least. It makes it interesting and even kind of fun to change it up sometimes. Always keeping in mind three very important factors; discretion, comfort and confidence.
G-17, G-23, G-21, G-36, Ruger blackhawk, ss, Ruger 10/22, Ruger Mark II, Ruger SP101, British Webley MKI .455, Kel-Tec P32, S&W top break .38, S&W 24-3 .44spl N frame Colt 1903 .32, Heritage .22 Combo, Colt AR-15, LE6920.

Currently, I carry the G19 with Speer Gold Dot +P 124 gr. GDHP ( part # 53617 ).
I am going to be making a switch to the G23 as soon as I can get my mitts on a Gen4 Model. I have already decided and purchased the rounds that I will try first. I’m planning on using the Speer Gold Dot 165 gr. GDHP ( part # 53970 ).
I expect the G23 will function just as flawlessly with the GDHP’s as my G19 does.

My carry gun is a Keltec PF9. I like it for the size. I do not like that it's a hand ringer when you shoot it. It's great for riding the motorcycle. I use several different guns in the cars or truck since they are easier to "carry" but mostly I have the G21 or my Kimber in the vehicles.

Just switched to a Ruger SP101 snub!

Sold off my Glock 27.....

The revolver is heavier, less capacity, slower to reload, and harder to clean..... but it feels right for me!
(5 rounds of .357 magnum feel adequate)

Glock 20 Gen 2 with TruGlo TFO sights (just installed) and Hogue grips, in a Comp-Tac Deluxe Pro Competition Kit (straight-drop OWB paddle holster, double mag carrier on a reinforced belt), along with a Streamlight PT 2L (weak side), Kershaw folding knife (strong side). I'm only 5'9" and 155 lb., but I've carried this concealed summer and winter without comment, though I'm not sure how much of that is the "don't pet a burning dog" syndrome. That, and for summer I've got to dress like Sam Axe from "Burn Notice", with untucked Hawaiian print shirts to minimize the gun's print. My wife has hinted at a Glock 29 for our next anniversary present...

Speaking of whom, she carries a SIG Sauer P239 SAS Gen 2 in .357 SIG with a Crimson Trace laser sight (being installed), in a similar Comp-Tac rig to mine. She's still getting the trigger sorted out to her liking (had the DAK done by mistake, when what I think she wanted was the AEM lightened trigger). She likes this gun, but as a lefty, I'm not too thrilled with the ergonomics, in part because I've gotten used to my Glock.
