CC pistols

I carry both an auto and a revolver. Depends on where I'm going and how I feel that day. Since I use two different autos and only 1 wheelgun I voted auto.

My daily carry is a CZ Rami 9mm - Crossbreed - Golden Sabers

Ruger LCP - Remora pocket holster - Fiocchi FMJ

Wheelguns

S&W Model 19-3 - Custom Holster - Hornady XTP

Retired

S&W 642

I carry a G-19 and love it but am thinking about trying out a G-26. Started off thinking about getting an LCP for light dress days but keep going back to the G-26.

You must be hyper-trained with the manual of arms for all three handguns to be able to remember it all when your life is being threatened.

What about a Glock 30, HK USP compact, a Sig C3 or a Smith and Wesson SW1911PD; all in .45ACP for effect. Somehow in 9mm I just feel undergunned and I think I would rather carry 8+1 rounds of .45 with 10 rounders on the reloads, than 10+1 in 9mm. There are a few others that I have carried but have mixed feelings about.

You no doubt live in a state which limits your 9mm mags. Here in VT, I can load 19+1 into my G17 and feel just fine.

NO...it should read auto as they are automatic weapons...just not fully automatic or selective fire weapons....it is automatic because when the trigger is pulled it mechanically auto reloads its self...it doesnt semi do anything

1. Lovely that you live in VT. We travel a lot and most states as well as Canada maintain a ten round magazine limit - we don't want to have to mess around with magazines, etc. while travelling which is what we do.
2. You will note, if you reread the entry, that the guns mentioned are all .45ACP and after pouring over FBI and other reports we settled on .45ACP in +P and a well engineered self defense/LE round for effect. In many cases the difference in effect was huge, in others it was nil. I want a heavy round that is going to transfer as much kinetic energy as possible while expanding to the max., so as a matter of personal preference, I will go with ten rounds of .45 as opposed to 17 rounds of 9mm. In any event, I carry at least two single stack magazines on my belt in what appears at first blush to be a cellphone case and gives me another 20 rounds of .45. I do NOT feel undergunned at this point. The number of rounds in the magazine at engagement I find to be moot as the engagement is either over in 3 seconds or if otherwise, I have the time to reload with ten rounders, single stack, which I have on my belt and carry either two or four of.

19 rounds does not mean you are going to make hits, nor does it mean that those hits are going to be effective. You want a round that is going to hit hard and expand well into a 'flying ashtray'. We have seen hits in the most obscure parts of the anatomy that have expanded rapidly and have buzz-sawed their way through the cardio-pulmonary cavity with great effect. I also want a round that is going to be accurate - and either will do the trick there.

I stunned that there are still people carrying revolvers. I can understand shooting them for nostalgic reasons, but the very revolvers that would be good for carry, are not good for recreational shooting.

The whole concept of "shoot a little and carry a lot" leaves me baffled.

Some people have traditional values that are difficult for some people to understand. A man may choose to carry a S&W Model 10 revolver because his father carried the same gun for 40 years. A S&W Model 10 is far better than nothing, which is what 99% of the civilians carry.

Glock 27 in a Kydex IWB Holster and a Beretta 950BS Jetfire in an ankle holster. Also I always have a good knife and a Maglight Solitaire with a TerraLUX LED conversion.
