TSA excluded from blue label program???

A gun shop buddy told me they got a letter from Glock in the last few weeks excluding TSA people from the program. Anyone else heard this or the back story if true?

Don't think they fit in with the qualifications as set out by Glock here http://us.glock.com/bluelabel

Why are they not "sworn law enforcement officers"? I know they are not special agents, but they do enforce laws don't they.

Sent from my smart phone which has no common sense.

Thanks for posting this interest item. I didn't know that I was eligible/qualified for the Blue Label program.

Big savings, in some cases up to almost $200 depending on model. Only problem will be finding a 'Blue'Label' dealer that has what you might want in stock. Enjoy.

Thousands Standing Around are not LEO's or even first responders. They are gate guards with the authority to feel up women.

They got to the point where everyone but fry cooks was accepted. That said, I don't know why TSA would be included. Not LE. Not emergency services. Not jailers.

The TSA is no longer allowed to buy Glocks through the Blue Label Program. And thankfully so! As it has been pointed out they are not LEO's nor do they have any police or law enforcement authority.

TSA isn't consider LEO, but a cook at the Federal Bureau of Prisions has LEO status and can carry under LEOSA.

I wonder of the cook went through the academy and perhaps worked his way ino the cooking job from other positions in the system.

TSA shouldn't be trusted with guns, at any cost...

Not LE. Not anything more than doormen who grope.

TSA screeners aren't that bad. They're essentially wackenhut. It's not reasonable to expect more from them. That's all they're meant to be.

Have you seen the monkeys that get hired as TSA workers? I'd be scared if they were allowed to handle firearms.

The TSA enforces regulations. The only ones armed under the TSA are federal air marshals and the very few special agents assigned to the OIG. The special agents are given authority and sworn as special deputy US marshals, and the air marshals are granted authority by statute under USC. No one in the screener side of the house has guns...

TSA does not have any authority to make arrests or even to detain someone. All they can do is prevent you from entering a secured area, and even at that, its not like they can physically restrain you. They are directed to observe, follow and report anyone to responding LE... Think neighborhood watch in the airport...

Only LE and the courts enforce laws.
