Hey cochese, what kind of grips are you running? I have 10-8s on mine but I want the wood look (with ample grip of course)

Once I do that, the radio will go back on my side and the baton behind it. I like it back there because the stick doesn't flop around when I walk or run. I go back and forth with the remote mic and right now I have it off. So most of the time if I key up, I have to pull it out of the POS Motorola holder (until I get a kydex COM pouch made for it, he needs a minimum of ten, but that's another rant).
The SL-20 rides in a 10 inch SAP pocket on my off hand side toward the rear... under my buttcheek. lol
I'll be happy when I can yard sale all this **** and wear 1/4 of this stuff on a 5.11 belt and call it a day.
|
As it is, I have to stuff one end of it under my right leg while driving but the top of it has room by the seatback cushion to fit out of the way.
I use my sap pocket for my SL-20 too. I know out west, sap pockets are under the pants pocket. Here, ours are under the front trouser pockets. At first I thought: :"WTF?" But they work great...I'm never sitting on my light or my gloves, etc.

They are the factory Springfield Professional cocobolo grips.
I believe SACS sources them from Ahrends. If I recall, they are the combat checkered cocobolos. I can't be certain though. I rotate between those and Davidsons Horned Lizards and sometimes a few others.

Yeah my wife had SAP pockets put on the sides at our old PD. Here, we have Flying Cross Chicago PD cargo pants. Six pocket. We can add SAP pockets on our dime which I do.

Unfortunately, the last time I saw my belt, I was handing it to my Capt. Starting at the front and moving clockwise, I had (assuming I remember right. It's been almost a year since I put it on)...
Double cuff holder
OC
Keeper
Firearm (Sig P220 .45)
Keeper
(empty space)
Latex glove holder (six o'clock)
(empty space)
Flashlight ring (for the big lights)
Streamlight Stinger DS
Keeper
Baton
Keeper
Radio
Taser (X26)
Keeper
Extra mags
Everything was basketweave leather.
Someday, when I'm hired again, I'll remember to snap a photo.

I've procrastinated posting my picture long enough that I won't be using this one for a long time...I start full time with a new agency on Thursday!
From left to right:
Sig P229 SCT (Just 2 extra rounds) mags
Streamlight ProTac 1L
X26
Asp Baton
Radio
Pelican 7060
Glove pouch (normally @ 6 o'clock- slid over)
Peerless Hinged Cuffs (normally around 4-5 o'clock)
Safariland 6365 with Sig P229 SCT + Surefire x300
OC
Asp Cuffs
I typically carry the ZT350 pictured in my left cargo pocket and have a small Buck knife I saw somewhere on here on my vest.

Nothing fancy but it gets the job done. I keep a benchmade in one pocket and another push button clipped inside my trauma pocket. Hatch loves in a cargo pocket.

Few questions....
How do you like the SCT mags? Do they make the balance funny?
What is the model number for your 6365, Safailand's will fit was showing there wasn't a 229 + X300 ALS holster combo.
How do you like that ZT 350? I was considering it for my next purchase.

I like the SCT mags a lot- I shoot it with both the regular mags and the SCT mags and honestly don't notice a difference. The regular mags sure conceal a lot better though!
The model number for the 6365 is: 6365-7442-131 I ordered it from opticsplanet - If you're going to order one, PM me- I have a 10% off code you can have!
I love the ZT350...I had a ZT301, but it was too big IMO. The 350 is big, but not huge- it's a good size for carrying on and off duty. The knife has held up to a lot of abuse and is still kicking . The SV30 seems to hold an edge for a long time- only downside is if you ever need to sharpen the serrations, they'd be a bear...

I ran three pairs for a long time. Then I got hurt on duty and had to cut weight. I dumped one pair and moved the other spare onto my vest. They are velcroed on with a police patch from a bike bag.
I've needed them a few times. I just reach into my shirt and snatch them out. Keeps the belt much lighter.

Two pair in the double cuff case, couple more hanging on the spotlight. Flexcuffs in the A pillar and in the trunk. I've needed both pairs more than enough times.

For me it's department policy. Only 1 pair of cuffs per belt.
I am thinking about getting a double cuff case, the big cheeses probably won't notice

I never thought about A vest. I wonder if I could make that work with an internal vest.

Always been two pairs of cuffs and 1 more in the bag unless it's dress up day with the shiny leather gear, then it's 1 pair.

Sorry, didn't get back with you on this. There are two CMC Power Mags (8-rd) and one Checkmate 7-rd w/ GI feed lips and a Pachmyer base pad. Just what I must have had when the pic was taken.
The pouch behind the mags and keeper holds a Streamlight incan Scorpion, my warmest color light which I use for close-up searches. I see **** better with the warm color.
I don't carry spray. I do carry a 29" Dymonwood.

I carry an extra pair of cuffs, extra folding knife, Streamlight LED penlight and extra pen type cuff key along with the plate.
My philosophy has always been, better to have it and not need it than to need and not have it....the three pairs of cuffs on my person and two in my bag came about after I caught three juvy's in a stolen car and only had two pairs of cuffs and I was the lone officer on duty at the time.
Stay safe all...

Having a specific assignment or rank does not preclude one from being a **** magnet.

I carry 2 sets of cuffs on my belt, 4 extra sets in my patrol bag in the car and 3 sets of flex cuffs in the trunk. I haven't thought about carrying an extra set on my vest. Might have to look into that.

Tell me about it...three block foot chase week before last and the guy had a major head start on me. I think he finally got the hint I was not stopping so he decided to give in. I do have to say, I love my job and incidents like that make it all what it is about.

Doesn't matter where I work, I have always been a sh1t magnet. I can sit behind a desk and it flung at me... heck, it seems like being behind a desk is more dangerous at time.

I originally had a double cuff case but took it back. A lot of weight in one spot for me. Another cuff case is in the works right now.ive just been holding a second pair on with a keeper.
I have a spare set in my bag for when I need them, but I'm going to try it out of the vest.
Well see how it goes. First shift is Monday.
