Here are my 3 Russki rifles...a 1954 Russian-built SKS rifle, complete with all of the CCCP markings, that I transplanted into a fiberglass folding stock. (Obviously, I kept all of the Soviet stuff...stocks and gear. The workmanship was amazing.) Secondly, my MAK-90, to which I added "traditional" stocks, and my AMD-65, with replaced pistol grips.
Enjoy,
Brad

My first AK, done up in tactical mode. My next one will be more traditional. This is a Saiga that I converted myself.

Wow, I just wasted an hour of my life looking and some awesome Ak's! Anyway, I've seriously thinking about buying a Polish tantal ak and here are some great hunting pictures. I've heard nothing but good about the recent imports with the correct barrel on them. If anyone cares to share if they have one I am all ears.

Glockdude 1 and other AK savy members,
A 2nd hand Norinco AK 2000 rifle in 5.56 here in the Philippines is being priced at a dollar equivalent of US$1,400-US$1,500. I'd like to hear your opinion if it is a good price to pay for considering the following:
a) I believe Norc is trying to sell their M4 carbine clone at US$1,400-US$1,500 here thus they pulled the AK 2000 out of the Philippine market temporarily.
b) Brand new it was worth an equivalent of some US$800 way back in 2007
No offense to the seller here. Just asking for advise from all of you good folks out there.
Thanks.

The pre ban .223 AK's here (they were banned from import here in 1989), are going for around $1400 ish here in the U.S.

My 1st build
Egyptian kit
Virgin Romanian barrel
Tapco G2 FCG (3), M-16 flash hider (1) and PG (1)
NDS-3 reciever (1)
(6) U.S. made parts.

Waiting on Bulgy Magazines, sling, FCG retainer plate on order. I'm not thrilled about the rivet job but it is tight and I didn't expect much from my first bolt cutter mod. Plus I over squeezed the **** out of them.

Original wood that came with the kit.
Beech (I believe) stock, and laminate upper hand guard. Walnut lower hand guard.
After sanding off old finish. Get wet to raise grain, dry, and fine sand again.
After a nice coat of Minwax red mahogany stain.
Then 3 (light) coats of minwax polyurethane followed by 00 steel wool to smooth.
The grain pattern in the stock was outstanding, and the red stain really brought it out.
Did the same with my latest build (although with lighter coat of stain on the wood (teak I believe)):
Milled re-weld Yugo M-70 pistol (on the left next to the Bulgy 74):

My Saiga converted by Red Jacket. I don't care for traditional AK looking rifles. I've since added a red dot and sling. It shoots sweet. The trigger is smoother than my g27.

My AK-47
My first AK-47! It's a Lancaster Arms milled receiver, tactical version. Just got it a few weeks ago. Love the gun.. It's really a dream to shoot. I put a new EOTech XPS 2-0 holographic sight on it, still waiting on an aluminum vertical foregrip to come in. Will be getting a convertible 1-2 point sling for it in the next few weeks, and eventually a nice flashlight for it as well.
