Depends. I run one at the end of a 14.5" patrol gun. With the stock extended all the way (I'm 6'3"/235) its just right. For my wife (who shoots the black and tan 6721) its just right on a carbine with the stock collapsed. I have one on my 7.5" upper as well. I've been unable to shoot that (or mount it for that matter since its locked up at work until the stamp arrives) but it will be more of a handstop than anything for that little gun.

Considering the specs (including the upgrade Geissele trigger), I'd say it's worth it, to me anyway.

For what you get in the rifle $1300 is a more than reasonable price. If I wasn't picking up a LaRue at Range Day I'd be all over the Rainier Arms rifle. Looks great. :-)
