I say sorta because this is not a NIB gun, it's a "new-to-me gun" - and it's not even the first time I have had it out. I ran a box of 38 Spcls thru it earlier in the week. I actually damaged my steel target stand a little with it.
Yesterday, I ran a couple of cylinder-fulls of magnums thru it and was pretty much
hitting what I aimed at.... but was hitting a little low on a home-made tombstone knock-down target I had out at 42 yards. Then I had the revelation: I have never sighted this thing in...and it has adjustable sights! (duh). So, I shot at paper and sure enough, it was hitting low. No wonder I dinged my target stand! I tweaked the sights about 9 clicks up and got this (about 12 yards):
Three in the green and that vertical string to the left. The others, mostly covered by the gun, were from the group before
I adjusted the sights.
I shot fifty rounds of Blazer Brass - 158g - JHP
(magnum) thru it, and fifty rounds of Underwood Ammunition - 125g - FMJ
(38 spcl) without a hitch!
This is the first 3" barrel 357 Magnum I've owned and I like it!
Here is my first six shots on steel after adjusting the sight (12 yards):
