The 255 or 300 grain "safe for all modern firearms" would be outstanding. I just picked up a 625 mountain gun that was from the very first run (no cast parts, no lock, firing pin on the hammer, etc.). Those loads would be just the ticket for packing in the woods this year. They'd be just about right for close range deer out of my Winchester 94 Trapper, too.

Please?

Are the 45Colt loads available by phone? I can't yet find them on the DT website.

Mcnett, Thanks for broadening the market for us shooters! The .45 colt +p is a hard critter to find for those of us who don't reload. PMC is the only one I can find besides regular cowboy plinking loads. BTW andy chance at a DT .454 load, 300gr, 2000fps, that would be great.

I normally don't harp on people when they announce stuff like this, but hunting season is just a few months away and I really need a good load for my .45 Colt Mountain Gun. Any idea when one of these loads will be released?

Mike says he will add the 45Colt loads to his product line most likely by the end of July. He's thinking he'll start with two 45Colt loads and one in 44Mag. When he releases the 44Mag he figures on making all three available in a Variety Pack.

I tryed a 230 acp gold-dot with a cannalure crip groove put on the bullet so it would crimp and 10.5grs of Unique. Effective load. Performed better than silver tip WW- bullet which is mild. More power than a +P 45acp 230 load.

How did you determine it's effectiveness?

Could you share some details? Penetration and expansion numbers? Weight retention? 25 yard accuracy?

Mike is taking orders on his 45Colt and 44Mag ammo now. He expects to begin shipping 45Colt late the week of August 8th and is shipping a 240gr 44Mag load now.

What are the 45 Colt loads? Don't know what to order if I don't know what they are.

I ordered a 45Colt variety pack asking him to suprise me. He said he had two heavy and two "McNett Lite" (my description) loads in a mix of HP and SWC in weights ranging from 250gr in the lighter loads to 325gr in the heavier loads. He did tell me exactly what he has but I let the info spill out my other ear.

i'd go with the 255gr i'm not too fussy with bullet style either a good swc or a quality h/p. something good for all around use.

A good old 255 hard lead SWC at 950fps-1000fps works for me be it selfdefence, hunting deer or woods pistol. A good general purpose load.
