Long story
Still work in the finance industry.
I used to work for First Union Bank as a loan officer. Loans you did were reviewed quarterly by a panel (Called Credit Review Board) and they looked to see if you were following sound lending practices, etc..
Well, one loan I did for a guy with some spotty credit history, but he had gone through a divorce, etc.. but was now over it and his credit was back to normal. I did the loan for the guy and, unfortunately, due to the spotty credit history I had to give him a higher rate based on a scale we had at the time.
The board saw the rate and said, "What are you a loanshark or something?" That was it... it stuck.
Every meeting I went to it was, "Here comes the shark or sharkey"
So I stuck with it as my personal handle when online.

So, can I be a temporary member here?
I've been here since 3 days after Charley hit and toured most of the state. Started in Naples, went to Jacksonville, down to Ft Lauderdale, back over to Tampa. I bet I have been in every little burg in between. I am currently working in a place called Barefoot Bay (Sebastian), one of the worst hit areas during Jeanne. From the looks of it, I will be here for another 6 months.
I may try and take a day off and go shooting at ome point in that 6 months.
If you have insurance related questions, I may be able to help answer them.

Another gunshop down here in Ft. Lauderdale is Guns & Knives. They have a four lane range. Like Delray, the prices are pretty high, but the selection is awesome and the service is great.
I will vouch for Firearms Plus as well. I have bought my last two guns there. Great prices on the used stuff.

Cal45,
Where do I start? Are you old enough to even own a gun in this state? Now, I realize that you have a
;f next to your message, but really ...
My wife is at least a 4th generation (makes my son 5th) born in Florida native. I have lived here since before I turned 6, and yes I am geting up there as that was in 1961. I have "my papers", but am not a "native". At best, you are an "new comer"! ^2
Glad to know you are so near!

Hi Dan,
Long time no type. I've shot a couple IDPA matches at the muzzle loaders range, but haven't really considered joining it since I'm already a member of the Pensacola Rifle and Pistol range. Best I recall, it's pretty cheap, maybe $25/year. Now that I think about it, that's a small price to pay to help keep a range in business. Naturally, I "need" to stop in and see what Tradewinds has for sale anyway, so maybe I'll sign up.
Thanks,
Rusty
