It is possible I was contending it would LOWER expectations to an unattainable level.

Well I have been working on the basic development of the cartridge and have come up with some ideas.
Since we are talking about a bullet slightly larger that the current 9mm para, and we do not yet have the cases needed I have come up with a way around this.
First of all to get variety of bullet weights I figure I and take standard 9mm projectiles and put them on my anvil, base down, and smack them with n appropriate hammer then run them through a 9mm Mak sizing die.
To get brass I am looking at a modification of the 9X23 by sizing the mouth up, in a "reverse bottleneck" fashion. This will, of course, require the use of my own designed "Clamshell" receiver and chamber unit attached to a Makarov barrel.
I have a neighbor, "Bubba", who if provided a reasonable fee, a six-pack is usually enough, will pull the lanyard on any firearms experiment, if I hold his beer.
Using this method I am sure we can develop a reasonable load.

And what kind of results are you expecting anyhow ?
Did you give any thought to future wildcatting of this round ?

Unkle, the foremost priority of any research project is to blow the grant money on schedule. Mundane items like "results" fade to irrelevance

My disposition is the wide variety of calibers I actually use across the board. One should not be limited, especially in these times of limited supply vs. demands. However my little old G-29 currently sports barrels for 10,40,357Sig and 9x25Dillon, so the flexibility insures plinking and power loads to tackle any situation.
Heck if I could find barrels in .224BOZ or a 0.308 necking of the 10mm and obtain some dies, I'd be working to push the limits of those platforms as well! I do see some marketing strategy in those items, not to mention the ballistic potentials.
Therefore flexibility would therefore exceed such LOWER expectations to an unattainable levels.

We can always find ways to blo....er....that is,... expend the Grant monies in an expedient manner.Such as increasing "N"Sweat Lager production.
No, in this case, some results might be required, if for no other reason than to keep the Grant monies flowing.

Results?
Well, if you insist I could come up with some before I begin the project.
I am tentatively looking at something in the 9mm +P+ ranges for given weights but remember we re going to sell it on the fact that it is bigger in diameter than the 9mm para, so it should give the rabble a case of the "tingles".
s a wildcat I m thinking of leveraging off the "niche" popularity of the 6.5 bullet in rifles. Since it is touted as "Less recoil/more killing" bullet in a rifle, I think it has future in that role in a pistol.

Ahhh, grasshopper! You demonstrate great potential with this statement!
In working to obtain grant funding to find the solution of a problem, it is beneficial to demonstrate you already know what you will find!

Whoa there big fella.
You are trying to tell the educated and experienced assembly that a politician's word has anything to do with his actions, especially where there is money involved, or the spending of OTHER people's money?
Dear, dear, dear, we obviously have to ramp up the Dungeon's program of reality-based interpretation of political statements.
Dear Leader spent HUGE amounts of OPM before being reelected and now has "more flexibility". Somehow it is like expecting another former leader not to get aroused in a college sorority house. Just ain't going to happen.
No, I predict a boon to those who know how to word the proposals correctly, as during all times of "politically correct austerity" If it can be proven, before the study begins, that $1.00 can be saved, per unit, on some item the government buys millions of and it will save the Government $100 million over ten years, the "austerity budget" demands that one-billion dollars be spent now to study the feasibility.
It just requires being in the right place at the right time.
"Location, location, location" and a dab of "salesmanship".

Let's see....
Dom P. & LaFeet Rothschild, caviar, ammo (any caliber as I can use most & barter what I don't).
There will be a more inclusive list shortly, but this will cover the basics.
Oh yeah, potable water & a portable system for making coffee, Jamacian Blue Mountain or Hawaiian Kona.
And a case of Crown Royal, just as a survival stash !

It sounds like my earthquake preparedness checklist.
Barter is an alternative reality until there's a SHTF moment.

For those who are not willing to barter in the real world, I say let them eat their gold....
They need my wheat.......
I DON'T need their gold ! But after they starve, it will then become my gold anyway !
note: will swap ammo or wheat for "N"SweatLager !
