Some guys have all the luck . . . ummm . . . misfortune.

Damn engineering interns are sitting around here in the Dungeon Brewmaster Control Room air conditioning like whipped dogs in the August heat.

Get out there and get to work studying the Superchiller efficiency under hurricane low millibar atmospheric conditions.

just got rid of the last of the summer engineering interns @ the "real" job...PITA. Feel like I've been a babysitter for the last 8 weeks. Had 3 of them;
#1) Very smart, EXTREMELY LAZY...
#2) Smart, hard worker, trainable
#3) Shouldn't be an intern, I want to keep this one as an APPRENTICE !

Told #3 that I'd write him a letter of recomendation if he ever needs one.

Eng.151515 you mean you let the interns IN where it's A/C ? Getting soft in our old age are we ?
GAWD, next they'll expect to get paid in valid currency......

As long as I stay off Lake Superior, I have no worries about a hurricane.Tornados, yes, hurricanes no.
The storm that sank the Edmund Fitzgerald was basicly an inland hurricane. Superior can get real mean !
We just don't get them in my part of the Lagoon !

Irene is just about near Nofolk, Va. now. On its way up to the DC area. Just rain right now.

I have a Jeep Wrangler and was out getting some gas. Did not have to wait in the long gas lines yesterday!! It is a ghost town out there.

Getting fuel and supplies are things that shouldn't wait till the last minute as people go nuts doing the last minute shuffle.

The new stuff down in LA is the contra flows(congested traffic getting out of the lower areas of the state. Many run out of gas! Katrina proved to be problematic!

Probably true ... but I offer this observation of generally observed public conduct: National Procrastination Week is usually indefinitely postponed.

Submitted for your consideration.

but,
The less you bet, the less you lose when you lose.
AND, since the odds are heavily stacked in favor of the house, we know that you are far more likely to lose than to win.
I would think that any good embezzler would know the odds of winning, losing, getting caught, or just have a good feel for the actuary tables in the big game of life.
Stopped the action at the table did you? I'll bet the eye in the sky counted the hairs on your head and the freckles on your ears for that one. Who says you don't live dangerously. When they have their professional muscle 'discreetly' follow me, I like to get right next to them so I look like I have bodyguards. But, that's just me.
