Monday evening...I'll be going to the local VFW post for remembrance of some fine soldiers who have passed on, including my father.

Other than that we will be having a food feast...We live to eat down here! Oh yea!, some drink too!

I switched the London Broil over from BBQ to a slow cooker. I grabbed a BBQ sauce recipe out of a cookbook, substituted gatorade for 7UP and brown sugar for honey and I'm going to let it simmer for 24 hours. Maybe, I'll just have a sandwich for dinner tomorrow.

A gracious way to spend Memorial Day.

Thoughts on history: The US is approaching a condition we saw in the 1920's: we are watching the generation of a great war fade from the scene. THEN it was the generation that fought the Civil War; NOW it is the generation that fought the Second World War. The Civil War veterans of the Union made a mistake when they formed their veterans organization, the Grand Army of the Republic; they made it ONLY Civil War veterans. When they were gone, the organization was gone with them. At least the American Legion, VFW, etc., have conceived themselves as representatives of ALL veterans, not just those of a particular war.

Samurirabbi, with your reference to their faces being attractive...I quite sure you have heard of the term Mug Shot (usually a picture such as police files)

The accepted meaning of "mug" is, of course, familiar to me. However, when I, like the lascivious 10-Ringers (pardon my redundancy), am operating in Salacious Sleazeball Mode, then a word can assume any risque meaning I would like it to assume. Hey, one of the prerogatives of being a senior admin type in the pecking order in our marvelously versatile outfit!

Touche', mon ami! A worthy play on words! The Dungeon Doubletalk Division can throw some linguistics contracting your way, if you would like to pick up some under-the-table bucks.
