Permit me the temerity of making a nomenclature correction to your post.

Within the 10-Ring hierarchy, the Dungeon bodies do not govern; we advise, coordinate, facilitate, administer, supplement (I'm sure you catch the drift here.) It would be boorish in the extreme for the Lowly, Servile, Menial (blah, blah, blah) Dungeon Peons to attempt to formally assume a governing function within the 10mm world. As a former 45-shooting Dungeon denizen who is continuing a transition to full 10-Ring membership, I always maintain cognizance of this vital point of protocol.

(Besides, the 39% cut of the take we Dungeon types embezzle from the 10-Ring cash flow make this whole subordinate shtick a hoot!)

I am at a loss to explain his ignorance of these words (which existed at the time the book was written). Perhaps he was referring to nouns (of which there are much fewer).

And now from the random file: Does anybody know when the mechanical bull was invented? I know that Sherwood Cryer of Gillies fame is frequently credited with the invention, but this URL says it was invented by Sam Reeves in the 1970s.

While I cannot answer your direct question, I can offer this bit of trivia:

The first commercial mechanical bull was installed, not in any TEXAS bar, but rather in a bar in Western CONNECTICUT!

Then I commented that it was probably the inspiration for the mechanical bull, which then got this stupid, "What came first," train of thought going.
It started off as humor, but quickly degenerated into this stupid encyclopedic one upsmanship thing.
So, yeah, Bah.

mechanical bull.....Somehow, the thought of needing an abrasive cut-off wheel to slice my steak reminds me just a bit tooooooo much of some of the dives I ate in back when I drove a truck...

On the other hand, Unkle, Alice Krige's Borg Queen was hot, even though much of her was ... like the mechanical bull ... mechanical. Of course, she was non-mechanical is all of what we shall euphemistically call "the right places".

Which brings to mind the song, "Looking for love in all the wrong places."

While at "The Beach" on Bourbon Street in New Orleans this Spring Break, my girlfriend rode a mechanical killer whale. It was claimed to be the only such beast in existence.

You have pointed our way to a worthy addition to the 10-Ring Lagoon Facility party setup.

You won't be disappointed, it attracts girls about as well as a 90% off shoe sale. When she saw it, she bee-lined straight for it. It is apparently irresistible.

Love Shack, yeah, yeah
I'm headin' down the Atlanta highway
Lookin' for the love getaway
Headed for the love getaway
I got me a car, it's as big as a whale
And we're headin' on down to the Love Shack
I got me a Chrysler, it seats about 20
So hurry up and bring your jukebox money

The love shack is a little old place where we can get together

Love Shack, baby, Love Shack
Love Shack, baby, Love Shack

I just watched my girlfriend and four friends completely fail at singing "Love Shack" Sunday night, at their Buffalo Wild Wings company Easter party. It was karaoke at its worst.

With a Chrysler, we can render the beast into being a lawn ornament by cutting their fuel subsidy.
.... just sayin' ....
