I hate to see specialized acronymns used as if they are common knowledge. I know what an RCO is, and I doubt it is listed outside of the military. Also every cavalry soldier has an RCO, it is a Regimental Commanding Officer.

Feel free to come visit, bring your favorite standard sighted, standard barreled AR. If you can do a 5 shot 1" group at 100 yards, dinner is on me.
very difficult using center mass hold, but if you use the 6 oclock hold very doable if the gun is capable. Any decent small bore three position or prone shooter should be able to do it. Also are you measuring center to center or edge to edge?

Soooo, what GUN phrases are you tired of hearing.

I dislike referring to an AR with no sights as a flat top.

The edges of the front sight post- the top edge, the left edge, and the right edge have zero width. They can be held at the same reference points on a 100 yard target every single time a shot is fired. When this is done, the resulting group will demonstrate the mechanical accuracy of the rifle/ammo combination. It takes good vision and a steady hand to do it, and most require a good rest in order to do it, but the width of the front sight post is not a limiting factor for those who have been trained in the proper use of a post type front sight.

You are now hedging your bet. Most standard barreled AR's will not shoot a one inch group at 100 yards with most ammunition. A match barreled, free floated AR with match ammo will.

Good point. My oldest brother had an AR15 and at the age of 13 or so, I could pepper the ten ring with stock sights at roughly 100 yards. No, not a one inch group, but accurate as all get out.

The very best shooters can shoot more accurately than a rigid, mechanical bench rest. Nothing is so rigid as to keep the rifle in an identical position for each shot, especially letting the barrel vibrate the same for each shot, and a rigid mechanical benchrest cannot make adjustments for changing range conditions the way good shooters do.

It is discussed extensively in the Sig pistol training video and, I presume, in their training programs.

If you aim for 'about' where you think the 'A' zone is on a target (ETA: rapid fire), you will likely place shots outside the area. OTOH, if you place a smaller, say, 2" orange dot in the center of the 'A' zone, you will statistically place the shots closer to the center of the zone. Try it some time and see how it works out.

It seems to apply to my rifle shooting as well. If I am aiming at a 1/2" red dot at 100 yards, my group size will likely be smaller than if I am aiming at a 2" red dot. But, maybe, that's just me...
