"Shot placement is everything", very untrue and very over used and very tired of seeing it used in these threads.

This I agree with. Could not be better said.

But I admit 'operator' and a smattering of others particularly from the tactical world do get under my skin at times. Depends upon the context, though.

"a 22 is better than a pointed stick"

Seriously though, I plan on using as much of this cliche terminology as possible.

Do people really enjoy being talked to like that? A lot of new shooters, many young, female, many from urban centers, aren't exactly going to be fond of some fat dude clad in camo barking at them with such poetic language.
This one is really starting to catch on again:

I OC a G21 in a Serpa. It's part of my EDC in my AO.

My shotty is the trunk gun in my taco. My OTF Microtech rounds out my loadout. It's all good kit.

I have posted this target before, to show the accuracy I got with my reloads and my Service Rifle competition gun. This is a 100 yard 3-shot group smaller than a dime. However, I admit my rifle does not have standard AR sghts.

The Okie Corral

The fact remains that, no matter the sights, if you put them in the same place every time your group will equal the accuracy of your barrel and ammo. Smaller sights just make it easier to put them in the same place every time. As for a 1" group - I've seen that done at 50 yards with an iron-sighted 1911, fired one-handed.

The fact that YOU can't shoot the rifle as well as many other shooters doesn't prove anything about the rifle. If you go out and buy a cheap AR for blasting cans with Wolf ammo, you are right that you aren't going to get 1" groups at 100 yards, but it's because of the barrel and ammo, not the sights. If you don't really know how to shoot well, you also won't get that accuracy with ANY rifle.

Where did you learn to shoot a rifle?
Good posts, and NICE shooting, Bren.

There is a guy at my sportsman's club, that used MY R6601 (box stock) and my ammo (same ammo mentioned above) with a leather sling in prone position, and fired 10 rounds at 100 yards, and kept all 10 rounds in the X and 10 ring of an MR-31 target.

It's amazing what some people won't believe, when it IS 'the truth'.

Your woefully inadequate gear package will get you and your whole family killed.

You need to have at least 4 extra glock 21 mags and then a glock 30 as a backup gun. Then a glock 30S as a backup backup gun. The. A glock 42 backup backup backup gun.

Of course, all these guns need trijicon RMR's with co witnessed night sights.

And you have to be wearing concealed level 5 body armor.

And dont anyone give me any crap about how body armor only gles up to leve 4. If the DOJ wasnt run by commie liberal marxist turds with their heads up their butts, they'd know level 5 body armor is totally a thing.

I bet they dont even play call of duty.

I like to use the term 'clip' instead of magazine because it spools-up the guys in or shooting group who are torqued a bit tight anyways!

BTW- none of the ex military guys have an issue with it

It's from the Mel Gibson movie, The Patriot; he's coaching his boys to shoot in a hurry.

It means don't aim at center mass, aim at a certain brass button on the tunic. Then instead of missing the entire torso, a small miss still hits the chest.

Or, aim at the X-ring instead of at the whole target.
I think Mas Ayoob said something similar in Shooting to Live, something along the lines of "Don't aim at center mass, aim at the lower left corner of the upper ventricle of his heart!"

It's not bad advice, in context.

Ok, now that makes sense!
